What's your first dinner?

California Grill. The view and the good food always puts us in a Disney mood.

We always do ESPN Club on arrival.. dunno why.. but its spawned into a tradition.

It is usually Le Cellier, but this upcoming trip we are doing Teppan Edo first.

Chef Mickey's was our first night tradition but it went downhill so far that I just can't muster any enthusiasm for it anymore.

The past few trips we've gone to Beaches & Cream or T-Rex/RFC. Our circumstances are very specific though: we usually stay room-only the first night so paying OOP, then check into a package with dining plan the next day.

Since we haven't had much of a lunch on arrival day, we usually go somewhere that we can get a good size meal. Where depends on whether we have park tickets for the first night.

With tickets, I would say CP to enjoy MK for the evening. Without tickets either Boma or Cape May Cafe.

Both trips have ended up being at Kona. We stay at the Poly, and the first trip we checked in early and headed to the MK. I knew when we came back we'd need to unpack, etc. and wanted to stay at the Poly. Loved Kona!! 2nd trip I originally planned Chef Mickey's first. But we added a night at the beginning for the 4/3 deal and we didn't do any parks our arrival day, so we did Kona again. Wasn't as thrilled that time and don't know if we'll do it again.

Our first trip as a family our DD15 was 3, we started at Chef Mickey's and it was awesome. I'd totally go that route.

For several trips our first meal has been WCC. It is fun and gets us in the Disney Spirit. We changed CM to now be our last meal, a nice way to say goodbye to the characters. But again, for the first trip, I'd start with CM!

It's been 'Ohana for a long time now. There's nothing like grilled shrimp and Auntie Lipoa to get us into vacation mode!

We do GFC usually, but I have done a character meal in the parks, it is so stressful to get there on time due to transportation etc... no matter how you plan it it always seems rushed.

Last trip was Tutto Italia (it was the last day of the Flower and Garden Festival so we had to go to Epcot). This trip it will be Crystal Palace and I plan on that being our new first dinner restaurant.

I dont think we have a first dinner planned....if we get in around 5pm or so we love to go to DTD and eat at Fultons but we do not do that every single trip....sometimes we will eat at our resorts CS or maybe go to another resort for TS....no rhyme or reason to how we do things. :lmao:

We take it easy on the first night. We can't help but to rush right over to the Magic Kingdom and then we have a lazy dinner at Cosmic Rays - we love the food and the entertainment! That way, we save our sit down meals for when we aren't crazy to get on some rides.

We have always headed to Epcot the first day. It's just not Disney for us until we ride Spaceship Earth. Our first dinner will be Le Cellier, just like it has been the last 4 trips.

Chef Mickey! We had a mini tradition going on, where we had dinner at CM every trip, then took the monorail over to Poly to watch EWP. Last trip we skipped that, but both kids, now teens, revolted! So it's back to CM on the first night next trip again, and we're all really looking forward to starting the trip off with a napkin dance!

Yachtsman Steakhouse. :goodvibes What a way to start our week long trip, next month. Especially after a 3 hour flight where I won't be able to eat, since my stomach doesn't do good in those situations.

We always eat at Chef Mickey's our first night. It's such a fun way to start out each trip.
