Everyone knows the standards recorded by hundreds of artists, but do you have a favorite that you're lucky to hear on the radio more than once a Christmas season? Mine: "Some Children See Him"

Nana Mouskouri - Old Toy Trains :thumbsup2

James Brown - Santa Claus, Go Straight to the Ghetto..:lmao:

"Coventry Carol"- I believe it is an old English carol. Annie Lennox sings a beautiful version of it on her new Christmas album.

I love that piece too. However, ever since I actually read the lyrics and understood them I'm filled with sadness whenever I hear it.

Without a doubt, Roger Whittaker's "Momma Mary"

I should say that when my kids went to Catholic school, they had the Christmas program in the church and at the end they would turn down the lights and all the kids K-8 would walk into the church with glow sticks (for safety. . lol) and sing this song. The older kids, because most of them had been singing it for years, knew the verses, but when it came to the chorus all the little kids would join in. I always cried. . .it still makes me cry. But I love it.

we LOVE dominic the donkey!!!

i haven't heard Suzy Snowflake on the radio yet this year. :( and i don't like the rosemary clooney version. i like The Silver Belles' version.

and Snoopy's Christmas!! LOVE that one!

could use a little less Wham's This Christmas. why did s/he give their heart to someone they didn't think was special anyway? also, if you gave your heart to someone, how can they give it away? it's not a physical gift that one can re-gift. although that would be the ULTIMATE re-gift. and yes, i am disturbed by the amount of time i have spent thinking about the lyrics of this song... time that may have been better spent pondering the lyrics of Snoopy. Or why, if Santa's sleigh can fly, it cannot make it up the hills of Italy, yet Dominic the donkey can?

I agree with everything you said!

Mary Did You Know
Christmas Shoes, everyone hates this song for being so sad, but I love it to me it shows the true meaning of Christmas doing for others.

On a lighter note. I love !2 Pains Of Christmas, It so funny I hardly ever hear it played anymore. I guess people don't love it very much lol
