:goodvibes Have a reservation for CBR in June...have paid for preferred and have requested a water view room....I have been trying to track down a map with room numbers to be armed with my preferred room choices at check in and can't find anything...All you folks who have been there, share with my your favorite room number and why!
:flower3:

We stayed in room 4653 - it was a king room with a courtyard view in Jamicia :goodvibes

From what I've read on here, water views really aren't worth the extra money... it's better to do preferred as far as room location (or bed size like we did)

There's no need to be armed with room numbers at check-in time. The CM who assists you will know from his/her computer the details of any room that comes up ... whether it faces a pool, lake, courtyard, parking lot, etc. Just ask the CM that you're hoping for water view (but knew you couldn't reserve a water view since you already reserved a preferred location... as you know, you can only reserve and pay for ONE), and hope for the best. It'll be a lot easier on the CM that trying to chase down specific room numbers.

I am staying here in May for the 1st time in USA, what is the hotel like?

I stayed in Martinique 2549 with this view:

and then in Trinidad 3128 with this view:

I agree that water view rooms are not worth paying for -- it could be a quiet pool as well as the lake... we loved being right off the courtyard... but Cleverocks is right -- the CM at check-in can help a lot when you get there.

The resort is beautiful -- check out the CBR FAQ thread that Safetymom has put together, and feel free to look at the photos in the links below. It's our favorite!:cool1:

I have stayed in all sorts of rooms at CBR and I agree with Catbert that the courtyard view was the best. It was so nice walking outside the room and sitting at a table. The kids had a place to play while I watched them.

I wouldn't spend extra for a water view room. Sometimes the view of the water is quite creative, sometimes it overlooks a pool. We have had great water view rooms but then everyone can see in the room so you look like you are on display. We usually close the blinds when we are in the room.

We have stayed at Martinique twice. First time in building 25 and the second time in building 24. We loved both locations and the views. We paid extra for preferred location out of the fear of being Trinidad South or the furthest point of Aruba. While the grounds are nice and its great to walk around, we didn't want a long haul to the food court. Martinique is close to the Port Royale and the main pool as well as having their own quite pools.

Loved Trinidad South and Jamaica and Martinique. Trinidad South is furthest from the customs house, but it is a great walk in the early morning and gets you going.

Martinique was great because it was Christmas when we stayed there and my boys were the youngest at that time of visit. Jamaica was our last visit, just a short hop across the bridge to the custom house. We have always had standard rooms but it is not far from the water. I really do not think you can go wrong with standard view.

We stayed at this resort twice. The first time we were in Jamaica right over the bridge to the food court and LOVED it. The second time we were in a waterview room in Trinidad South. It was beautiful but a HIKE from everything. We purchased the refillable mugs and thought that it was a waste of money on that trip b/c we were always too tired to walk and get something to drink.
