What's your favorite resource for making a F&W plan?

I know there are a million places to find menus, pictures, prices, reviews, descriptions etc. for F&W items. What's your favorite resource for planning your F&W strategy? I'd love something I could print out and review to help pass the time on the plane - ideally it would have all the items sorted by country, with a quick description - really to use as a checklist to mark what we want to try. Prices aren't necessarily important but might be nice, and pictures definitely aren't necessary. A lot of the websites have SO much information that printing everything out would result in a 200-page document! And then I've seen other lists where it's just the name of the item, and thus sometimes hard to know exactly what it is. Any suggestions for something with a "just right" amount of detail in a nice, succinct format? Thanks!

Disney Food Blog has a 250+ detailed report that you can purchase. It is very good and also comes with a printable checklist. Easy PDF download. They also have a great amount of material available for free. Link follows:

Thanks for the link! I looked at a list, but the pics have changed my mind on a few things. That cheese trio from The Cheese Studio looks very tasty!

I would never pay for something like that.

Here's the best advise... pace yourself. You can look at a map and a menu all you'd like (which I do) but that all goes downhill when you get there!

You get full faster than expected, there's a line you don't want to wait on, someone walks past you with something delicious not in your plans. You get side tracked or don't want to go all the way over to wherever that one thing was that you wanted. Your top three must haves are scattered around the world. You opt for an extra frozen cosmo... you get the message.

Or maybe that's just me. LOLOL

Everyone has different ways to approach F&W, some do the whole detail plan with a budget and mapping out the booths they want to go to, some pick things they want to eat, some (Like me) just sort of fly by the seat of their pants. It just depends on how much time you are going to be spending there and what your goals are. I go for anywhere from 4 to 6 days and spend part of each day at F&W. I attend a couple of the little deminars in the festival center, do at least one of the food and wine pairing meals and all my food except breakfast comes from F&W. I make no plans, I buy one of the little wrist gift cards and reload it if I need it. I don't budget but do aim to get something from every booth, I don't always make it. I've been known to circle WS 4 to 5 times in one day. I just stop at the first booth that looks interesting, get something and either grab a table or a bench or a curb and eat or walk around and eat. I wander into the shops and then just grab something at the next booth I come to, might be right next to the one I just ate at or might be 4 booths over. I make no other plans while I'm there, I spend the mornings before WS opens at the other parks and head over to Epcot when I'm hungry. I normally go back to my resort in the late afternoon for some pool time and if I'm not hungry yet, I'll hop over to another park then back to Epcot when I get hungry again. I don't make any FPs since I go often and don't mind standing in line, I will make a FP for another ride while I'm in line if there is something available I'm interested in. It's just all seat of the pants.

I like the spreadsheet, printed off. I then use the Disney Food Blog and my favorite, Josh at EasyWDW to highlight and make notes. I especially like Josh's assessment of "value".

Josh from easywdw have great reports and even little pdf version with mini reviews of each item usually

Another fan of the Disney food blog pdf. I figure for the little bit that I pay for it, it save me a lot of time looking up that information.
The first year, we didn't have a plan and no idea what was at the different booths. We ended up missing many foods and stands that we would have enjoyed.
we learned that just as having a plan for your Disney trip helps you get more out of your trip, a plan for F & W greatly helps you get the most out of your time.
There is too much there to see and try everything so planning ahead is necessary.
Some of the special events do sell out, so planning ahead and getting your reservations is important during busy times.

My rumbling stomach :-)

There is an app called WDW Food&Wine that is pretty cool. You can mark items for a wish list and then check off, rate, and get a virtual passport stamp when you do. I know it's available for iPhone not sure about android. This is not an official app- not associated with Disney.

This app is AWESOME!! Thanks for the tip!

ETA: I marked all of my "wish list" items and there's 36 things I want to try - and that's just food, not drinks! Overkill?!

My strategy is pretty much like @loves to dive and @kastoney. Except I'd try to always leave room for a fisherman's pie at Ireland. Sadly, it's gone, so I guess I'll have to try more of the new offerings! I'm usually coming from the IG and the escargo at France is RIGHT there, so that's handy. I think one of the best parts of the festival is just letting it come to you. Strolling, imbibing, and eating. Have a great time!

there is a sticky on the restaurant board with a spreadsheet attached with all the items listed including prices.
I am having trouble finding the sticky. I always make my own spreadsheet but would love to save some time. I know it's just me, but would you point me in the right direction? Thanks so much

I found it! It's in the main F&W thread that's a sticky. There is a link to the spreadsheet in the 4th (I'm pretty sure it's 4th) post in that thread.
