A little backstory: I'm planning our third trip to the Fort for August. Our first trip we tent camped and had loop 2000. We had a site that made it easy to walk through the group campsite and onto loop 900 to the meadow area and pool. But it did seem far from the settlement. Our next trip was last March and we had a preferred site on loop 200. We LOVED this location. I loved being so close to the settlement and loved hearing the water pageant every night. It was especially cold last March when we were there so we never visited the meadows area so we didn't mind being far from there. Now to our trip coming up this summer. We are renting a 40' camper from Greenberg so we are going to book a premium site. I just can't decide where I want to request. It's going to be hot so I know the 7 kids (ages 7-18) will want to frequent the pool often. But I got attached to being close to the settlement last time. We also like to have a comfort station near by with so many kids. Makes it easier to get ready in the morning. We don't have pets but don't mind being on a pet loop. I also like shade and privacy. I'm leaning towards loops 400, 500, or 800.

What are your favorite loops and why?

Thanks.
Cara

I've done the 400 and 1400 loop. I would take 400 easily due to more shade and seemed a bit roomier on most of the sites. The big bonus to it is very close to the marina, Trails End, and Hoop. The squirrels seem to be more organized there though, almost gang like. You can usually offset this with a plate of unsalted peanuts, if this fails they really like Froot Loops.

Been to the 800 and the 600, this Sunday checking in to the 700 (I hope). Liked both loops equally so we're still looking for a favorite. I believe there are no bad premium sites just some just better that others for many different reasons.

When I Premium camp, I request loop 900 which is right across from the Meadow Trading Post area. It has a Comfort Station it right at its loop entrance and the Pool, Bike Barn, and Campfire/Movie area just beyond. There is a bus stop right at the loop entrance too.

Premiums near the Preferreds (and I'm in my Preferred phase right now) would be 400 or 700 (was in 400 last trip but had requested a Preferred) and you might like these if you still want to be by the Pioneer Hall, beach, etc. end.

Don't get hung up on trying to figure out shady loops because that is so much a site-by-site consideration.

Good luck.

We love the 900 loop! Great location. This last time we were placed in the 800 and we enjoyed it also. It was a little more walking than the 900, but not significantly so. (We spend a lot of time at the pool)
