My DH and I will be leaving the kids with my parents one night of our trip to have a belated anniversary dinner alone. I was thinking about CG and Wishes, but DH is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and I'm not sure how much he'd appreciate CG. So I'm looking for some recommendations. We'll be staying at the BWV and we'll have a car so we're willing to go anywhere on Disney prop.

How about Shula's?? Lots of excellent meat (and potatoes) and it's a nice resturant as well. Sinatra music in the background!! They validate valet parking at the Dolphin, so it won't cost you a thing for parking either.

For meat and potatoes Yachtsman Steakhouse would be a good one, or as PP mentioned, Shula's. Maybe Jiko too. They have a great fillet and short ribs too.

I had an excellent steak and the best mashed potatoes I've ever had at the Grand Floridian Cafe when DH & I had dinner there. You could also walk out to the beach for Wishes and take the monorail over to MK and view them from there. :)

Yep.
That's the one you want.
Hands down the best.
And besides shula's (which is on property but not disney) Jiko's filet is probably the best.

CG will not be a without kids meal.
You'll be without kids but everyone else will have theirs excitedly waiting for fireworks.
Thus it will lose that quiet romantic meal you where hoping for.

Raglan Road, especially if you like live Irish music (after 8PM Monday - Saturday) and a pub atmosphere.

Artist Point. We've celebrated several anniversaries there.

The other suggestions are all great, especially Shula's and YS since they are specifically steakhouses, but you most certainly get a meat and potatoes meal at California Grill! We have had the filet there and it was outstanding. The pork tenderloin and chicken both are outstanding as well. The menu changes often, if there is a meat that is not paired with a potato, you can always ask to substitute. I would not rule it out just because their menu includes a lot of sushi and other items. Their appetizers and desserts are incredible as well. Please consider it along with the others!

I don't think that the environment at CG is conducive to an anniversary dinner (it's pretty zooey - loud, and you'll have no privacy). I think that both the environment and food at Jiko would both be great for a special, adults-only occasion, but I don't think you could go wrong with the YS or Shula's either. I've seen some negative reviews for the YS on here, but I've never had a bad meal there and I think the environment (while not necessarily romantic) is more adult-focused than most of the restaurants on Disney property.

Jiko is my favorite 'regular' restaurant choice.

The absolute best place for an adults only dinner, in my opinion, is Victoria & Albert's. It's much pricier, but worth it if you can swing it.

Okay, so I'm married with no kids and we love disney. So, we're looking for these types of restaurants on every trip. I'm a pediatric nurse and take care of kids for a living, so I do love children; but after a day in the parks, I'm looking for a more adult atmosphere in the evening. :)

Our favorite places were: Citricos at GF and Portobello at Downtown Disney. I found that the atmosphere of the Grand Floridian was great - one of the reasons we're staying there on our next vacation. We also loved Ohana but it was more of a family place. I have a reservation at the Yachtsman Steakhouse for this upcoming so I can't tell you if it's any good or not but it sounds awesome for me and the husband as we love steak!
