What's Your Favorite?...........Part 3

/
1964 my mother that summer had an opportuniy to get a free car in Eurkea, Calif, on the coast, lawns with green grass...far call from the desert of Joshua Tree...but down the street, in a old wood grocery store, with wood floors...was penny candy....every morning, with one dime each we would walk down and fill a paper bag with 10 choices...I have no idea what we got or if was even a penny...all I rember was the wrinkled paper bag when we got back to Grandmas.

WYF memory of a store with stairs?

In Cape May there is a small mall, that has only an escalator going up, stairs, or an elevator to go down. All in all maybe 8 stores in all in this little “mall.”

my favorite mall was early 70s, had this huge variety store with popcorn at check out, plus a orange julis, sees candy and a few other odd stores trying to figure out the history of what Malls are all about, after all Llyod Center portland was the very first mall in the USA, but never went as a child or adult so no memory attachement. as an adult salem had a mall that during the rain I would walk circles on the upper deck...with many folks...but was never a shopper of any sort...so dont miss malls, even though they mis use the term here in Yuma...huge parking lot with many strip mall buildings.
