What's your favorite holiday song?

Carols:
O Come O Come Emmanuel
I Wonder As I Wander
Silent Night

Holiday Songs:
I'll Be Home For Christmas
The Christmas Song

I grew up in a church that always sang 4 part harmony acapella. There is nothing like it for Christmas-time!

When you say "holiday" do you mean Christmas or all of them?

If it is all of them, then I pick Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."

If "holiday" means Christmas, then "Joy to the World," or "Adeste Fideles."

O Holy Night by Nat King Cole

Mary Did You Know (no particular artist)

Gosh, I LOVE christmas music.

my favorites?
pretty much all but:

Silver Bells
Winter Wonderland
Sleigh Ride
Believe (Josh Groban -- Polar express)
White Christmas
When Christmas comes to town ( Polar Express)
Carol of the Bells Mannheim Steamroller

and many more.

But i'll be ready to throw things at the radio when Christmas Shoes play.
I hate it.
They overplay it and the song is annoying

I love Mary's Boy Child by Boney M and O Holy Night by Josh Grobin or Clay Aiken.

I love Some Children See Him, the version by James Taylor. It's such a pretty song. My eyes always well up when I hear it.

Hands down-- "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" by Andy Williams. It always reminds me of Christmases when I was little; both my parents and my grandparents owned that album and we'd listen to it both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Plus, it's on the Osborne Family Lights loop. :goodvibes You really can't go wrong with anything AW or Bing Crosby, though.

Oh, and last year I absolutely fell in love with "Wizards in Winter" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (yes, because of that house lights video). That's one I can hear any time of year and still get into.

Mine is by far O Holy Night by Josh Grobin.

I am 100% with you on this. I also like Carol of the Bells by Mannheim Steamroller, Sleigh Ride by Boston Pop Orchestra (I think that's the correct name) and Do You Hear What I Hear (don't have a preference as to who sings it)

Besides most of the ones that have already been mentioned, The Christmas Waltz is one of my favorites.

"The Christmas Waltz"

Frosted windowpanes
Candles gleaming inside
Painted candy canes on the tree
Santa's on his way
He's filled his sleigh with things
Things for you and me

It's that time of year
When the world falls in love
Ev'ry song you hear seems to say
Merry Christmas
May your New Year dreams come true
And this song of mine
In three-quarter time
Wishes you and yours
The same thing too

Thank you! That's another song my family listens to every year (courtesy of the Reader's Digest multi-CD Christmas set they came out with years ago), but I never knew what the name of it was. (Of course, that means I could have just gone and looked at the CD case, but why get up off the couch when I can just sit here and wait to learn things on the DIS? ;) )

Too many, Winter Wonderland Burl Ives, I love Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses !!

I love O Holy Night-like so many have said it moves me to tears every time I hear it.

Another favorite is Go Tell It on the Mountain-it's such a joyful song.

I love every song Mannheim Steamroller performs.

This thread makes me so excited to break out my Christmas CDs. I always make myself wait until the day after Thanksgiving to break out the Christmas music. It just wouldn't be Christmas without the music.

Melekelikimaka by Bing Crosby. I love it and it always made me think how wonderful it would be to spend Christmas in Hawaii when I was a little girl!

One I used to hate and now has grown on me is Dominick The Donkey. I laugh everytime I hear it! :lmao:

I pretty much love all Bing Crosby Christmas songs!! :dance3:

To make me feel like a kid again? My favorite has to be "Here comes Santa Claus"

Josh Groban-O Holy Night
Redneck 12 Days of Christmas-Jeff Foxworthy
Christmas Here's Your Sign
Adam Sandler's song from SNL(can't spell the title)
Anything by Bob Rivers(gotta have a semi wraped sense of humor)

More classic picks to come

"The Christmas Shoes" Newsong(my absolute favorite, I cry everytime)
"O Holy Night" doesn't matter the artist, it is one of my all time favorites
"Linus & Lucy" from a Charlie Brown Christmas(don't know if it counts but I cannot get it out of my head)
"When Love Came Down" Point of Grace
