I'm interested in all the resorts, but specifically I'd love to know about VWL as we've stayed there twice with mixed results. First time was in a studio, 1st floor, right off the hidden springs pool and we LOVED it (the bunnies were around in the evening, we would hear the music from the speaker across the pathway and we could walk right out to the pool.) Not much on view though.

We also had a 1br on the 3rd floor near the "cow bells" outside the arcade which made it far too annoying to sit on the balcony or even keep the door open for any length of time. I loved the 1br unit, but I really don't want this location again.

I'm up for suggestions as we'll be there end of August again & have no clue if they even have 1br units in the off the pool area. So help me & others out! Where is(are) your favorite DVC room(s) located & unit size?

Our favorite by far is the Boardwalk view rooms at the BWV. Best view that points can buy, overlooking Crescent Lake with EPCOT/Spaceship Earth in the background. But that's not to say we always book it. More often than not we get a standard view to save points.

My favorite VWL studio is a dedicated one. We had #3531 one December. It's in a corner and has a tall window and since it was when we had the Dis'ers VWL Christmas tree we put the tree in the window and every time we were in the villa pool we would look up and see it.

Our favorite BWV standard 2 bedroom location was all the way at the end of the hallway with a great view of the canal from the balcony. It was a wonderful stay all around and I suppose that added to my memory of the view.

We had a one bedroom at VWL once that was at the end of the short hallway that would be to the right as you get off the elevator. Because it was at the end of the hall, no one passed in front of it. It was a dedicated so there was a bit of extra room, maybe an extra closet :confused3 . the balcony faced the lodge but if you looked to the right, you could see the lake and the Electrical Light Parade (or whatever it is called) at night. We really enjoyed our stay in that villa. And this room was on the third floor and at that spot in the building there is no one above you.

Of course I could be in almost any room at VWL and be happy :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Our favorite would have to be Old Key West. We love the larger rooms and layed back atmosphere.

1) OVIR at VB
2) Savanna View @ AKV
3) Boardwalk View @ Boardwalk
4) DTD view at CP at SSR (or golf course view in Grandstand) at SSR

We've had several great rooms and the VLW and yes there are 1 bedrooms with views of the pool and lake. I really should keep track of the room numbers but one year we had the one bedroom that looks directly on to the pool and lake on the second floor. It was perfect:thumbsup2 . I have stayed in several studios on the first floor with no real view but they do have the walk out patios where the cute bunnies congregate. I have also had top floor rooms which I don't recommend because the balconies are solid and so you really can't see out unless you are standing up. I have even had the infamous dumpster view one Thanksgiving that lasted all of 30 minutes because I cried :sad1: and they found me another room.

OKW - Turtle Pond Road, water view, 1st floor, 1 bedroom
BWV - Boardwalk view, 5th floor, 1 bedroom; Option - Standard view, top floor, across from the bus stop.

Where in OKW, it's a BIG place ;) We stayed there in a studio & were located in the far back of the complex with a view of trees, the neighbors and all the AC units. Didn't care for it.

All over favorite is OKW and specifically buildings 45 and 46.

AKV savanna view or concierge

BWV boardwalk view is nice, but don't care for much else about the resort.

Boardwalk, Boardwalk view from any 5th floor villa in the "Crest of' the Wave" section (the closer to the Jellyrolls end the better).

5th floor BWV Boardwalk view 2-Bedroom villa - #5015/17

It's the second red section in the center of the Boardwalk. I LOVE the huge covered balcony. Sitting out there with a glass of wine watching the fireworks is just amazing... :cloud9:

We stayed in a 1-bedroom, #4523 at the VWL. We really enjoyed the room, and when the front desk was checking us in she said "that's a really nice room." No one above us, on the corner, we had a view of the pool (smaller pool), and were able to partially see the fireworks, and water parade from the balcony. Be warned to check the windows in the master bedroom as they are supposed to be locked, but one of ours was able to be opened with no screen (I told the front desk and they were there fixing it within an hour), although we had no children in the room.

Here's the view of Illuminations from the balcony of Boardwalk villa 5007. Nothing enclosing you, so the view is incredible.

2142 and 2122. But I'm not saying which resorts because then you all would run over and scoop them up everytime.

Those boardwalk views look very inviting, but being a points miser I had a standard view either top floor or one below directly across from the bus stop. From that vantage pint we could see some of illuminations from our balcony which was very neat.

You can think that if you like, but I'm not saying nothin'! Nothin', do you hear me! I gave away my Illuminations secret on these boards and havent been able to take advantage of it ever since. I'm saying No-thing. Nope nope nope.
