HELP! I cannot decide on which Dinner Show to do with my gang! I love the idea of the HDD but then again the Luau sounds absolutely enthralling! My 'gang' consists of myself, my dh, 3 girls ages 5, 9, 11 and my 72 yo diabetic mother ... my understanding is that with 24 hours notice they can help out with her dietary needs :) LOVE this place!!! I am also seriously considering the All American BBQ as an extra, but with the cost of the Dinner Shows, we will only be able to do one of them this trip ... which is YOUR favorite? Which would you recommend? (she asks without knowing if she can even GET a PS for either of them! LOL) But at least, knowing we are AP Holders gives me hope we will get to one of the Dinner Shows within a YEAR!

HDD with out a doubt!!! It is a very, very entertaining show. It's also great if you are celebrating a b-day as they make a really big deal about that. The food is great and it's all you can eat. We will be going there in Oct. and DS will turn 3 at HDD. We go there every trip and always have a great time. HDD has my vote! Enjoy!

:rotfl: Hoop de Doo for sure. We went to HDD and Luau in October. Children 5,8,10. They liked both shows. But they loved HDD! We all laughed so much. Everyone of us was clapping and singing. I have already booked our seats for our next trip!:)

So glad to hear that kids loved the HDD!!! I was afraid it might be a bit 'over their heads' or just not their speed, so to speak. I am so excited ... NOW, I gotta HOPE I can get PS for it!!! I will definitely mention our darling's bday when we go, or should I mention it when booking PS? Thanks for your input ~ the Luau seems like such a stunning visual show and it really is hard to decide! Good thing we will go back again this year so we can see that one later in the year! I do hope I can get those PS!!! Wish me luck!

I would mention the b-day when you make PS. I always do. Also mention it when you arrive and check-in at HDD. Good luck!!:bounce:

I almost fell asleep at the Luau. Maybe it was the relaxing music or something, but Hoop Dee Doo is much livelier!

Hoop Dee Doo!!! That is the best! I never tire of it. We haven't brought the kids yet...can't decide if they're old enough. They're 6 and 7. Think they'd get the jokes?

The last time there I got a little carried away with the Sangria....just a fair warning.....it was so sweet and so good - I didn't really believe there was any real alcohol in it - it didn't hit me until we were on the bus back to the parking lot. I had to go straight home and go to bed! We planned an evening at downtown disney, but the room was just spinning too much for me to do anything. Fun date I turned out to be!

BEWARE, BEWARE!!!!

What do they put in those things, anyway? Next time...straight sprite or diet coke for me!
:teeth:

Have been to the Laua and just booked the Hoop De Doo for Thanksgiving 2004 and was surprised to learn that the 5pm show was already booked! I reserved the 7:15 pm show but may check back within the 30 days prior to see if anyone dropped the 5 pm because I thought 7:15 was getting late for my 4 year old. Maybe it was because of the holiday but I do know they take reservations for the dinner shows up to two years in advance. Also, you don't need to pay for it until about 30 days in advance.

My three kids also were not in love with the food at the Laua, so Hoop De Doo sounds more like their fare!

I would like to do this sometime too, but with 5 adults it can be a bit costly. Any AP discounts or anything else for this?
Thanks!

Absolutely Hoop-Dee-Doo!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

We did the HDD this past year with our DGD who was only 2 1/2 years old at the time. She loved the music and the clapping even if the jokes and humor were way over her head. She still talks about playing the wash board! It was great fun, great food and wonderful memories. Definately worth the dollars!!!

EmmasGrammy,
We took our 2 year old son this past summer also. He loved it. Laughed and laughed even though he didn't know what he was laughing about. All he knew was that he was having fun and so were the people around him, even the 2 15 year olds. He got into the "washboarding" too. Don't you just love Disney smiles.
