So I have always drooled at the thought of going to WDW at Christmastime...But the crowds!

So I was wondering what were the best tips/ parts of the Christmastime stuff at WDW. I heard there are special fireworks, parades, caroling, food, decor, and more...But I have no idea about any of it.

I would love to hear about your fav part of the Christmastime stuff!

I'm not sure if they still have this but if they do it's not to be missed. I always called it the Candlelight Choir. It's a night celebration at Epcot. There's a choir with candles doing different carols and they always had a different celebrity reading the Christmas story. It was always beautiful, and a little low-key after the spectacle of the normal nighttime specatculars. I was last there Christmas 2001, so it's been a few years. I hope they still have it! princess:

Are you talking about the Candlelight Processional? If so, it still happens every year in Epcot. Here's a link: Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It's really beautiful.

I hope that link works!!

Mickey Very Merry Christmas parade is great well worth the money, if you choose to do it, eat first because there are so many things to see and do
not worth spending half the night in a restaurant. The Osbourne family
lights in MGM are also awesome my kids love the snow it can be crowded though so just take your time and enjoy the lights.

We love the festivities at WDW during Christmastime!!! One of our best kept secrets is seeing Santa in Downtown Disney. The lines are minimal and he's the real thing!! We always have our kids pictures made with him and the cost is decent. It's about the same as what you might pay for that Mall Santa. Silly imposter that he his!!! Ha. ;) We also love to shop and just stroll. Christmas music is playing and Carolers are out. It's so much fun! :flower:

Another tip is to do MVMCP. It's such a neat experience. It snows on Main Street, the parade is awesome, hot cocoa and cookies are served and you get a free photo. The most wonderful thing as well is that the crowds are minimal unless you get closer to Christmas. Otherwise, you pretty much walk onto all of the rides. It's awesome! We accomplish more in one night than we do in an entire day at the parties. (Just did MNSSHP this year and loved it as well!) :cheer2:

In Epcot, take the time to listen to the Storytellers. They really are fantastic and also try to catch the tree lighting ceremony at least once.

In MGM, we love the parade! I can't think of the name they give it for Christmas but it's fantastic. Loads of characters and they are all dressed up in their holiday finest. We also love, love, love the Osbourne Family lights. It's a not miss in our book. :flower:

Lastly, take tours of the hotels!! GF has a huge gingerbread house inside and they actually serve goodies out of it and Boardwalk has a neat display made totally out of chocolate as well.

I think I'm done now - lol! Wish we were going this year but we wanted to try Disney from the Halloween aspect. We wern't disappointed but we sure will miss WDW this Christmas!! :earboy2:

I love it when they release the snow at MGM and Mickeys Merry Christmas party, watching the snow and drinking hot coco, it doesnt get any better. :drinking1

Okay - totally brain depleted

What is MVMCP and MNSSHP? :confused3 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and...Mickey's New Snow Shuvel Hippo Parade....

I'm sooo tired...Sick baby, up late, lots of sleepy parents (well, there are 2 of us, but I am seeing double by now)...

Anyway - please illuminate that for me. I'm so clueless with ATHERKJDSJF (that one is made up - just in case you are as tired as I am :cool1: )

you almost got it...Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party...now go get some rest!!!

Candlelight Processional! Thank you, I could not remember the name! I'm glad they still have it. I also like staying in the hotels over Thanksgiving. You wake up the day after and Christmas has arrived. . .

Don't forget about the Osborne Light show at MGM, we love walking down the "streets" with the snow falling :umbrella:

We really enjoy Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom and getting our picture taken with the characters at Camp Minnie-Mickey. They are dressed up in their finest Christmas outfits.

Best piece of advise is not to schedule too many things. The parks will be crowded any you will be frustrated if you are trying to keep to a schedule, relax and enjoy the parks. Take a trip to some of the resorts especially the deluxe resorts to see all the fantastic homemade creations.

We go to Disney in the winter to escape the mountians of snow we get. It made me smile :rotfl2: to think about snow there. How cool that will be. We are going to be there the two weeks following Christmas so we will finally be able to experience the Disney Christmas magic. I can hardly wait. :Pinkbounc

Thanks for all the great tips everyone! I will be at WDW on Dec 9th-12th for the first time during Christmas and now I will have to make time to do some of these things!

OH! we just love it at Christmas! The Illuminations fireworks are better at Christmas. I just love to walk around and look at the decorations and the people. One of our favorite things is walking around Fort Wilderness to look at the campsite decorations!

I don't know where you are staying, but I think it would be worth the boatride from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge. It is breathtaking!

Thanks for the awesome tips!!

We got tickets for the christmas party! Any tips for that one?
