My November trips costs were as follows (US dollars ... 2 adults 3 kids):
Drive to and from Portland from Halifax $200 (Gas and food)
Park Stay and Fly for 5 $235
Flights from PWM to MCO 1250
Disney Port Orleans 10 nights with disney passes, no water park, no hopper, Free Dining $3100
Cash $300
Unplanned purchases on Charge Card $650

.... Just under $6000 US for 10 nights at Disney with food and passes, plus 1 night on the road - - - --

Well, after our first trip in 2007 (DS's 4th bday) and we saw that we spent about $1,000/day :scared1: (airfare, November, AAA rate, CR MK view, DxDP)

We realized we needed to trim back.

Last year we did buy 4/get 3 at CBR with DDP (no park hopper) and spent $450/day. (all spent)

This year looks to be about $650/day including a 3-day cruise...

pin code split stay POR (4 nights)/AKL (2 nights)
no DDP
1/2 marathon park tickets
transfers to DCL
3-night kids sail free (secret porthole room)
airfare (with one free flight) from YUL

10 nights in a 2BR at AKV.

Accomodations: $0 (DVC) Technically DVC it's paid for itself with previous visits. I suppose about $800 for the year of maintenance fees. Bending the rules, I know. Our guests are paying for the cash nights since we're using our points for the rest.

Flights: $357 total for 3 tickets (taxes and fees) direct from Halifax by using Avion/Aeroplan.
Food: $400 grocery stop for the week + $200 for in-park goodies.
Tickets: $0. Bought annual passes and paid for them on our last trip.
Souvenirs: $500 or so I would hope.

We're on a quickie trip.

Travel to BUF & back : $25 gas
Hotel in BUF : $107
Parking in BUF : $45
Flight to MCO : $430
Resort, 4 nights : $580
Car rental, 5 days : $172
Disney TX, 2 days : $380
Food for 6 days : $600 + 130 for CRT (groan)
Extra shopping : $100

Total : $2,600 US (approximately). That's for 2 adults & 1 child.

I don't think we're saving that much money, (our last trip was on the 4/3 deal and it cost almost exactly the same) but we are gaining much more flexibility and freedom this time.

Whatever I budget, it always seems to be 33-50% more than what I thought that I would spend. It seems that I am always gettings appetizers and drinks with all my meals and buying lots of clothes etc. Ted, I will get that Gator football trip report out in a day or so as I just got home yesterday.

On our last trip, my wife and I spent about US$2100 for a 5-night stay (Boardwalk preferred-view; rented DVC points) including park hoppers and the dining plan. We flew JetBlue/Southwest for $350 roundtrip. Per night: ~$420.

On our next trip, we're hoping to spend 9 nights at POP during free dining. With park hoppers and water parks, we're looking at around $3100 for a family of 4. Per night: ~$344.

First trip was in 2006 and a last minute decision (we booked on January 10th and traveled February 7th). That trip was $1700 for flights out of Halifax and $3100 for 7 nights at Pop Century, regular room with DDP (when it included tips and apps). All items purchased during the week went on room charges and at check out it was $487 (including an expensive pair of sunglasses DH had to have). That was for 3 people.

This trip, February 3-11, 2010 our flights were $1775 out of Halifax, 8 nights at AKL, pool view bunk beds (hoping for pixie dust for a savannah room!), DDP, park hoppers, water fun and more for 9 days (we arrive at noon and don't depart until 6:35 so wanted to be in the park on arrival day and departure day) was $4100.

I plan to prepurchase photo cd if I get the offer (if I don't, I'll call and try to get a pin from them) so that will be $100 and DD's and I will do the pearl thing so am figuring about $300 for that after setting them, $300 for tips at meals and 1 extra TS meal beyond plan and then all the other extras, guessing my check out bill will be around $1000.

Can't wait till our trip! Only 69 more days!!!!

Our next trip 14 nights (2A,2C)

Airfare - $2900 (Cdn) (got a seat sale)
DVC Room/Resort -BLT (DVC using pts) $1400(US)-estimated from Annual fees divided in half
Food/Snacks - $2400 (US)
Souvenirs -$200 (US)(at most! maybe even less:thumbsup2)
KSC trip (car, passes, food) - $500 (US) approx
APs - Paid for from previous vacation - so getting 3 vacations (approx 40 days with one AP!:cool1::banana:)

Since we use our DVC points, it's difficult to determine how much to estimate the room cost. The points have already been paid for, but we do have the annual fees. So, to use a quick estimate, I divided our annual fees in half (2 trips/year). But again, since we use different number of points for different trips, this would be only an average estimate.

We tend to add a special trip outside Disney if we already paid for the APs. If the trip requires we renew our APs, then we don't do any special trips for that vacation.

We are 2 adults, and 2 kids (age 2 and 6). We're doing a trip Dec 4-14 and staying offsite in a 4 bedroom pool home in Windsor Palms. We're splitting accomodation costs with inlaws - our share is $540. I got a great deal on Air Tran tickets out of Buffalo for the 4 of us - $475. Parking in Buffalo - $65. Alamo rental car plus gas and tolls in Orlando - $230. Tickets and parking for 3 (youngest is still free) $785ish. We'll eat breakfast in the house, pack lunches a lot of the time, splurge on some snacks and eat out mostly offsite. Budget for groceries, eating out and snacks - $630. Souvenirs - $75 (we're not shoppers) Grand total $2800ish US. Can't wait! We did a budget-type trip last winter too, and had a blast.

Our last WDW was about $3000: did cheap flights on AirTran, condo at WH, rental car through National, MNSSHP + 6 day base tix, mostly groceries w/ a few treats in the parks, one dinner out.

Our trip to DL/San Diego was only $1500 because we had free flights and 4 hotel nights free (we used my dh's hotel points and American Airlines rewards miles-he travels a lot on business and gets to keep the miles/hotel pts.)

I remember our first ever trip to disney when we knew nothing....we booked a package from toronto and it ended up costing us almost 7000 for a week at pop with dining and tickets and one of our kids was a "kid" then, and tips were included, plus we had to pay for parking at the airport and souveniers on top of that, but now that we are smarter and never book a package like that....we are going this year in March and staying 10 nights at PORFQ and with park passes including waterparks and more and dining plan for 4 adults (12+15) we are paying 4000 usd and our flights from buffalo on airtran 1000 usd. ..... We will also have to pay for parking in buffalo of about 50 dollars us and tips for dining of about 250 and mousekeeping of about 50 and then whatever souveniers we pick up.....and whatever else we decide upon so I guess 6000 will cover it all...... Always the best $ spent that year!!! always.

We did well with our budget this time.

Direct WestJet flights Wpg to Orland with airmiles so $779.84 for taxes for 4 people

Free from airmiles 7 days passes for all 4 family members

9 nights at the Caribbean Beach Resort with free Dining and one day tickets.

$1620.20 (US dollars)

We'll use Magical Express but will pay for a taxi to and from home.

Souvenirs not sure.

We got direct flights from Halifax to Orlando for 2 adults and one child for $1660. We are staying 2 nights room only at POP, then 8 nights at the Grand Floridian with Deluxe Dining and 9 day MYW with park hopper tickets for $4900.

It is a little more than last time but this time we have direct flights, are staying 2 extra nights, and are at GF not POFQ. We spent $500-600 last time on drinks, tips, and souvenirs. We got a 40% pin that saved us a lot on the resort.

Hi
I was wondering how much it would cost for a family of 5 to drive down to WDW. We are in the Mississauga area and we have our own van.

Only a few weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait !!!!! Knowing my luck.. one of us will end up with the swine flu b4 then!!!! Just a little paranoia kicking in!!!!

If you want to know approx. how much it will cost to drive to Disney World. Use Map Quest to get driving directions, after your directions come up there is a fuel cost option at the top of the map, enter your vehicles avg mpg, if you don't know you can google for the average. It will give you an estimated cost. My father drives to Florida all the time and he said that it is pretty accurate.

Driving from Mississauga to Orlando is 2,100 km – about 20 hours. one direction.

So if you use $8 cdn of gas per hour = $160 cdn, plus hotel, plus meals.

You could do this drive in 2 days .... but I would break it into 10 hours first day (gets close to Charlotte), then crack off 6 or 7 hours the next day. Then the day you arrive at Disney you would only have 4 or 3 hours drive.

4/3 deal package paid partly with Airmiles (CBR for 7 nights, 7 day base passes and dining) $1300

4 direct flights $2100

2 nights at Universal (hotel and passes) $800

extra food - breakfast, tips, 2 days at Universal, 1 TS OOP $400

tips, cabs to airport and US, $150

January 25th-February 1

2 adults, 2 children

7 nights MYW w/DDP (Buy 4, Get 7) @ POFQ
no hopper - $2331 US

Flights from Minneapolis - $620 CD (r/t for all of us - MEGA deal)
Gas/Food/Hotel near Mall of America ~ $250
Photopass - (in a share) - $15CD

Girls are each getting a $25 Disney GC for Christmas and we will buy them each 1 thing outside of that no more than $20.

DH and I have decided that we will each buy 2 souvenirs totaling no more than $25 each!
