Does Christmas Eve count?

If so, I do an Italian Christmas Eve fish/seafood dinner. This year I'll be serving:
lobster ravioli
shrimp cocktail
scallops
salmon
tilapia
tuna
crab legs

and as support, there will also be:
green beans
spaghetti aglio e olio
salad with raspberries, glazed walnuts and creamy goat cheese

I'm still trying to figure out if I need (or if it's worth the hassle) to make another vegetable dish. I tend to err on the side of having way too much food rather than end up with not enough.

Lasagna or baked ziti, and I am working overnight all weekend, so df will be celebrating alone :(

It's traditonal for us.

and its served for lunch - supper is leftovers

ham
adult mac n cheese
deviled eggs
green veggie - peas, beans or butterbeans
maybe sweet potatoes
croissants

I can't remember from one year to the next!

B'fast is always the same - pigs in a blanket & sausage balls

Please explain "adult" mac n cheese?

:confused3 I think they just mean homemade vs. Kraft. But, I have to admit, I had some pretty funny thoughts (provocatively shaped noodles? :rotfl2:)

No idea what ours will be this year but I am leaning towards orange glazed pot roast, green beans, mashed potato, rolls and a salad. One of the first years I was married my mom and I decided we were sick of "tradition" and she served vegetarian lasagne. I thought DH was going to die, "You can't have LASAGNE for Christmas....OMG!! Is that an OLIVE in there?" LOL LOL

bacon wrapped pineapple
deli meats, sliced cheese & crackers
Asst. olives & pickled veggies......asparagus, green beans & artichoke hearts
Cheeze Whiz
Chips & dip

asst. sodas, wine and mixed drinks

Large pasta shells stuffed with chopped lobster, scallions and mushrooms with red sauce.
Breaded fillet of sole.
Shrimp cocktail.
Battered baked butterfly shrimp with tartar sauce.
Sea scallop stew made with a heavy cream sauce and lentils.
Fresh green string beans.
Barbequed turkey thighs seasoned with jerk seasoning.
Spring salad with balsamic vinegar and olive oil and feta cheese.
Mashed potatoes.
Glazed baby carrots.
Mrs. Smith's apple pie.

and an abundance of adult beverages.

That would be my menu if I were going to be home for Christmas.

Bernaise Sauce
fresh tossed salad
homemade yeast rolls
cookies

1. Christmas Eve is our traditional tortellini soup/salad/bread. We always have left over soup that we can heat up for a quick and yummy lunch on Christmas Day. This year, for the first time ever, I am going to cook the soup as usual, and then transfer it to the crockpot so we will eat after church. I hope it'll turn out OK.

2. Christmas dinner is basically a Thanksgiving II.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls. Dessert = cookies

3. When we do Christmas dinner with my parents the week after Christmas, I'm making my spaghetti sauce in the crockpot so all I'll have to do when they are here is boil pasta, assemble salads, and slice bread. Dessert = cookies and orange cranberry cake.

We're having Christmas Eve dinner at my parents house and we'll be having chicken cutlet and potato pancakes (my favourite!). We're having Christmas dinner at my boyfriend's family's house and his mom is making a ham and probably some standard sides like mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.

Someday I want to do a Christmas dinner with all Italian foods... baked ziti, chicken parm, garlic bread, minestrone soup, meatballs, etc.

Turkey (from a recipe on allrecipes)
cheesy potatoes (a recipe from my exboyfriends mother)
stuffing
crescent rolls
and an apple pie made by Feed :goodvibes I'm picking it up Friday

My dh is a picky eater so it's usually just a meat and potatoes kind of meal.
