What's your BTMR line strategy?

If my memory isn't failing me (and at my age that's entirely possible) the line on the right is always the wheelchair line. I know the wheelchair line is always the same line, the wheelchair loading area never moves. If they take it down to 1 train only, that's the train they are running. And I'm fairly sure the line on the right is the one that loads on to that particular side of the trains. Unless there's a turn in the line I'm forgetting.

You are correct it is always that side

Thanks. It makes sense that it wouldn't move. I just can never remember which side it's on from one trip to the next.

When confronted with a left line or right line choice in almost every situation in life, I ‘usually’ choose the left line. I also read somewhere that it’s human nature to go right (no clue if that is true!), but I swear it works at least 50% of the time. ;)

I find that as Americans, we tend to keep right, so I usually go to the left, unless there's an obvious difference in the two and the right is shorter.

I believe that...stairwells, hallways, etc., people tend to go right in two-lane traffic. I know as a server for many years, we were trained every place I ever worked to enter the kitchen through the right side if there were double doors, etc., to avoid collisions. Having said that, I'm not sure what I do at BTMR? :confused3 Probably an impulse decision...

I honestly don't think it makes that much of a difference by the time you're at that point in the line. I generally go left (as above, it's technically shorter since it's on the inside), but sometimes base it on which line is moving and how long it's been moving for. If the one side has been moving for several people, I go with the line that is not moving because it will be the next to get loaded.

I usually go to the longer line because it's the one to get loaded next. But I mostly choose depending on how annoying a group ahead of me is. I'd rather wait a little longer.

This is the only rule my "I'm not a fan of Disney" husband can remember. ALWAYS GO LEFT. He'll be slumping along, all quiet, and then we come across a split and he comes to life yelling at the kids to go left, go left!! It's like someone above stated, we as American's tend to pick right automatically, so the line to the left is generally shorter. Now on this particular ride, since the wait is so short after the split i'm not sure it matters as much...

I wonder if people in the U.K. and Australia tend to go left since they drive on the left side.

To answer the OPs question, we typically RD BTMR so I have only ever seen both sides open once. I don’t remember which way I went that time.

I bet DS15 that he can't pick the right one. He picks and then if we beat the person closest to us that went the other way I owe him $5. It's not scientific by any means and neither is determining who "won" but he thinks it's fun.

We tend to go left. How quickly you ride is kind of a toss up.

The biggest differentiator is often one that hasn't yet been mentioned. How the CM pre-loads (when they line folks up in individual rows to board.) Some CM's just barely keep up with loading the ride, while others double stack each row. Most CM's do some kind of hybrid and alternate. If your side is double stacked, but the other is not, then the double-stacked side will take longer to board.

While it is true that handicapped AND VIP's load on the right, their overall numbers are a bit low.

There's at least as many guests who request last car/front car seating. If any area tends to get double stacked, it tends to be folks who have requested the last row. (though some request the front.) I've even seen it triple stacked.

This brings me around to another important point: we'll take what we're offered, but prefer the back row. I'd rather wait slightly longer and end up near the back of the train- than load quicker and be in the front of the train.

We actually pay more attention to guessing which row/car we'll get.

It's cool to see I am not alone in my "go to the left" strategy! I too have read how most people tend to go to the right when entering stores, getting in multiple lines, etc (and I want to say it had something to do with the majority of people being right-handed but I could also be making that up). I do this entering the parks as well - I always go to the left side to enter. Specifically for BTMRR, I don't have a set strategy but I would say more times than not I do stay to the left. If there is a group I'm not super fond of in front of me, I will go the opposite way they go!
