We ate lunch there last week. Here's my views.
It was on a Wednesday around Noon, and there was no wait. We were seated in the blue ice cave room. The two close areas (blue and red) were pretty full. The two farther sections (the green jungle areas) weren't being used. And the bar area was fairly empty.
All the food there is obnoxiously huge. It was enjoyable. But the portions are very large.
The regular burger was so thick my brother couldn't figure out how to fit it in his mouth. He ended up with stuff all over his shirt and pants.
My brother's wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich that comes on a croissant. She was expecting a fairly dainty sandwich. Instead she got a gigantic croissant that was a foot long. Biggest croissant I've ever seen. And it was stacked. She barely got through half.
I ordered the philly cheesesteak. That was a footlong, which is basically what you expect with a cheesesteak. I'm a big eater, and was able to make it through, but I was stuffed.
Right now there's no discounts for AP or Dining Experience cardholders. We were told they would be adding discounts in the first week of January.
The restaurant is loud. And not typical Disney loud. I'm talking L-O-U-D! We had to yell across the table, and only made out every other word.
It's funny, because during our meal we were talking about the lights triggering an epileptic seizure. I can't compare it to RFC. But there are tons of flashing lights. Every 15 minutes or so, there's a meteor shower and the place goes absolutely nuts. The dinos start screaming and the lights start flashing. It only lasts maybe 2-3 minutes, but it seems much longer.
The flashing effects are really amplified in the blue icecave room, which changes colors from blue to pink. During the meteor shower it almost becomes like a strobe light.
Overall, I'm glad we tried it, but we probably won't go back. I'm sure that kids will love it. All the kids we saw there were having a good time. If you're a big eater, you'll probably like the food.
But if you're a group of adults and don't like large food portions, loud noises or flashing lights, you should probably try another restaurant.

A little OT here but are there any flashing lights there? We're arriving next Friday and are bringing a teen with epilepsy with us. Flashing lights are one of her triggers so I need to find out ahead of time. I know that RFC has the flashes with the thunder, so I guess it's out, just wondering about T Rex. TIA!
