What's Wrong with Rachel Ray??

I like her shows, but I admit that she annoys me too. I wish just once that she would taste something and say that it's not really that great! She always makes that same face and goes on and on about how good it is. (I know it would be really rude to dis someones food after putting them through all of that, but come on, I want to see it in real life, yanno?) I usually don't like anything she picks on the under $40 show. I love seeing the locations though.

I find her very entertaining & informative.

She does not talk over the head of her audience. She keeps her recipies simple, but still gives them style.

Not being a "culinary trained cook", the "food elite" (for lack of a better term) looks down their noses at her.................

But they would probably switch places with her & her success in a New York Minute.

She's worked hard to get where she is, & her success is ok by me.....

She is a bit "hyper-perky", however. Buuuut maybe that just adds to her appeal (& marketability).

Bottom line..... Don't like, don't watch.

I don't hate her but she does get on my nerves sometimes. I do enjoy watching $40.00 a day, especially if its someplace I have been or want to go to.

As Kelly Ripa said, "you strike while the iron is hot". I think that is why you see Rachel all over the place. She has 3 shows on the food channel.

I did hear her say she does have a boyfriend now, I'm sure she was getting a lot of unsolicited marriage proposals. Men love women who will do the cookin.

She recently got married.

Her new book, called something like 365 meals or something is soooo good. I've already made a few things out of it, and they've actually taken less than 30 minutes. It's a keeper, and a great gift if you know a busy mom:)

I love Rachael Ray. She's a little too bubbly for me sometimes, but so what! Of course, there will be those out there who don't care for her. I've seen a "R R S#cks" site (sis in-law also a RR fan sent them to me) and what cracks me up is these people detest her yet sit around watching her shows all the time and pick her apart. :)

Personally, I love Rachael Ray. True, she can be annoying and too perky, but in the end, I love the food. I make her stuff a LOT. She took the "chicken cook" out of me :)

Um, and I say EVOO.

Also, it drives me nuts to watch her put pre-made ice cream on pre-made cookies and call it a "recipe" or "meal idea".

She hates baking--and admitted that a couple of times on "30 minutes". That show depends on ready made items and such.

Haven't seen her other shows.

I like her--but she is overexposed...very much so.

We have her children's cookbook--the nuggets in them....one word: "YUMMERS".

I really like her but do think she might be getting over exposed. Yes she has signed a deal with Oprah to have a talk show starting in Fall of 2007.

I like Rachel Ray. Got my mom one of her cookbooks for her birthday.

That's how I got DH! :rotfl:

I love Rachel Ray. Yes, she can be a bit too perky for my taste but I like her recipes and the fact that she shows people that you can make good meals quickly and it doesn't have to be Hamburger Helper. :crazy2:

There is an article about her in the recent issue of People showing her and her husband.
I'm buying her new cookbook for my brother.

I watch Rachael Ray. I love her shows (except for the one where she interviewed celebrities, I hate that one) and I have a couple of her books (people give them to me). She giggles too darn much, though. Sometimes she is just TOO FREAKIN' CUTE.

I have none of her cookbooks, but would love that one. Sounds good.

I think she's OK, but am not in love with her. A little too overkill on the perkiness, though.

I don't like the idea of her doing a talk show. That seems a little much.

I like her and especially the $40 show because I like getting a mini-tour of the cities she visits. I hate the EVOO thing and wish she'd drop it, as well as the "stoup" thing.

I wondered about the food she eats on the $40 show- as someone mentioned above, she always raves about the food. So how staged is the show? If she doesn't like the food does she ask for something else until she finds something she likes, or is she lying about liking it on camera? Does she really have to pay or does the restaurant provide the food in exchange for the advertising? I thought she tipped 10%, but maybe my math wasn't quick enough.

I have several of her books and am giving some for gifts.

I wasn't interested in the celebrity show and didn't watch it. I can't imagine her being any good at a talk show.

I make a lot of her entree recipes. And I LOVE them. I appreciate the "shortcuts" for some of the recipes because if you are prepared, you really can make them in 30 mins.

I've heard yumm-o and EVOO one to many times, but i'll take it for the great recipes!
