Whats Wrong with my Family!!!

So last night at dinner, my husband, 15 year old DD and 7 year old DS decided, Mom that trip to WDW for New Years 2 years ago was the best, can we go this year!!!!


HELLLOOOO PEOPLE!!!


I tried to plan something last January, then at the 11 month mark suggested it, then at the 7 month mark suggested again!

Now they want to go!!! I'm embarrassed to even try to call and inquire!!!

I just can't believe now they want to do this!!!

Who knows - maybe something will be available!!! hahaha

Or.... at least look at life thru the same rose color glasses they have on.
You might get a room in any Disney hotel or on Hotel Blvd, (maybe not) but I doubt that a room thru DVC is available.

But he said consider the two weeks before, there was some availablility, so we will have a board meeting tonight! and see what they decide. I don't want them missing school, but honestly, the week before Christmas, is a slow week, the kids are all over the place, so missing 2-3 days may not be an issue.

I operate under the "benevolent dictatorship" principal with the kids....and what could be more benevolent than a trip to WDW?

I also have my wife's cell on speed dial for just the types of "emergencies" we're talking about here. I mean....booking a Disney trip is "red alert" status, for sure!

I'm totally with you, but - DH and I are heading for a 5 night St. Maarten trip in November, so this trip would be exactly a month later!! Talk about being spoiled!!! So I better not just jump this time, and at least wait till dinner time!!!

the kicker to this is I can get non-stop flights on Jet Blue for 79 each way!!!! So I'll sell the trip with the fact of the great flights we can get!!!

We are contemplating cancelling our Dec. 31-Jan. 3 ressie at SSR. I guess that the wait list is a mile long at this point but you never know what might come thru.

When are you going to be in St Maarten? We are at our other TS (Royal Palm) from Nov 9th - 16th.

We are at The Towers at Mullet Bay 11/10-11/15, we own week 45, 17 and 18 there. Week 45 is NO KIDS!!! so we cut it short a few days. Weeks 17 and 18 are carnival time and the kids join us!! though this year I'm trying to change for 14 and 15 due to school breaks! I will be at Royal Palm visiting Sharon Harris (cell phone lady!!). Maybe we will see each other there or at Bucaneer Beach Bar, or whatever the new name will be!!

Just a very excited update. I received an email from Jet Blue stating very inexpensive airfares - non-stop from Newburgh NY to MCO for 180.00 per ticket. Now how could I pass that up, so I hit the family with - my birthday is on 1/4, I want to go to WDW!!! They all looked at me like I was nuts, DS's birthday is on 11/30, SSSOOOOO - I said we are going! Decision made, called MS - No room in the inn! Called hubby at work and advised you know I only turn 40 once!!! He said book whatever and just tell me where to be! So 4 nights over New Years at the Contemporary! Perfect, granted it's not DVC, the room will only have 1 TV, but I think we can manage!! haha - and I was even able to book dinner reservations, not the best, but hey, we have them!!! I was so surprised that one, I could find a room, and also the airfare!!! Very excited!!! Had to share!

I'm glad you were able to book a room and what great airfare!

And you can point to this in January and say "remember how last year I suggested we go to WDW for New Years and stay DVC and y'all said no no no" and how four months later I asked again and y'all said no no no... well, this year I'm booking it for next year.

Because you can always cancel if you find you don't want to go... but as you found out this year, it's (nearly) impossible to get anything on short notice.

My guys want to stay at the Contemporary some time -- so we're trying to figure out if we want to spend $$ for a few nights there at some point.

My goodness, Clarabelle - that's wonderful! Have a great trip. Some of our best trips have been those planned at short notice. I can't believe you got a room with this short notice. We'll be there over NY's, too (BWV). Have a wonderful time! Happy Birthday!
