What's with this weather here today?

I heard a little while ago that it's 78 degrees here. So we must have been over 80 today. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...this is why we live in FL in the winter! But I'm ready for snow in Virginia!! It would be fun to go ice skating again.

It's pretty warm here today, too. Of course, we're much further south than Chicago. All three of us (me, DH and DS) wore shorts today and have had the airconditioner on for the past three days!

Heavy snow warning in effect from 12 am to 6 pm cst Sunday.
The NWS in chicago has issued a heavy snow warning for the following areas:
In illinois:
Boone, cook, de kalb, dupage, grundy, kane, kankakee, kendall, la salle, lake, lee, livingston, mchenry, ogle, will and winnebago.
In indiana:
Lake and porter.
Heavy snow will fall north of a line from pontiac illinois through kankakee illinois and into valparasio indiana. This snow will begin around midnight and continue through early Sunday afternoon.
Stay tuned to noaa weather radio and other local media for further detail or updates.
Any travel is strongly discouraged. If you leave the safety of being indoors, you will be traveling in very dangerous conditions.
A heavy snow warning is issued when significant amounts of snow are forecast. Snowfall intensities will be heavy enough to substantially reduce visibilities at times.

It was in the 80's here today. So hard to believe it's winter. I like the just don't like the heat.

73 degrees and high humidity with fog here. Mosquitos are actually back and the frogs are singing.

Sunny and mid 60's yesterday, but cooler and rainy today.
My sister flew back to Chicago today and at the time she took off the weather was better there than here! So much for coming to Phoenix for Christmas! However, it sounds like tomorrow will be a different story. She's right on Lake Michigan (Dan, near Belmont Harbor) and will definitely feel that snowstorm!

Beautiful weather in Roanoke, VA today. The high was about 70. We were outside all day. It's supposed to get cold later in the week. UGH!!

We are getting 60 degrees here tommorrow, followed by rain, then the cold air is going to shock us back into winter, with lows in the teens by week's end! Ugh! I hate all this "up and down" weather!

Dan, you can keep the snow, please don't send it to Philly! LOL

It felt like spring here today and a few more days like we have had this week and the plants will start to bud. We have broken some weather records the last couple of days. On monday it will be about a 30 degree change in temperatures. Storms are expected for tomorrow just like spring.

I don't ever remember a January day as nice as the one we had today! The temps reached high 50's. The sun came out for awhile too.

Now there's a ticker tape going across the bottom of the TV screen that says "Winter Storm Warning" in effect for neighboring NY counties till 4pm. They usually get dumped on in Buffalo more than we do here in Erie. Hope that's the case this time!

Each day without snow is one day closer to Spring!

Anyone who lived in Chicago in 1967 knows that after a day in the 60's in Jan., you WILL be punished with a snow storm. It was 65 the day begore the BIG blizzard.

It just started snowing 10 minutes ago, so now it begins.

By the way, MrsV98, I live right off of Lake-Cook road, it should be clear tomorrow(I hope)

And ibouncetoo, I grew up in Belmont Harbor and sledded down the Belmont exit of the outer drive during the 67 storm.

We've had very mild weather here too, and quite frankly, I don't like it. I like the seasons to be the way the seasons are supposed to be. I like it cold in the winter, hot in the summer, and temperate in the spring and fall.

Now I am going to sound like my mothere here, but when the weather is warm like this in January in places where it's not supposed to be warm in January, a lot more folks wind up sick. I think the cold and the snow kill the germs, and if we don't have cold and snow, the germs thrive!

It is now 3:48 pm on Sunday and we are under a winter storm warning, I live in Beloit Wi which is in south eastern Wi right on the Wi Il border, its snowing like crazy, we are supposed to get from 6 to 10 inches of snow by the time it is all over with.

We missed setting a record high temp. by only one degree! It got close to 80 degrees here today! And I loved it!

Just got in from snow blowing. We only got about 5 inches here or so, and in mid 20's now. Seasonal. By tomorrow night we are supposed to be at or a bit below zero, but agan, seasonal. What we had last week was not, LOL.

Susan, that was two years ago????? Yikes!!! I was just at the Old Orchard store the day after Christmas. So happy to see some of the items reurning, adult items, snow globes and the like. Hope the store stays open, so many rumors to the contrary.

djgeffers1, you need to make a DIS meet here too, you are so close. Hope to meet you in the months ahead at one of them, keep your eyes open here and on the Meet board for DIS meets.
