Here's what we used to do with the Unlimited/Length of stay passes WDW used to offer. A typical 3 day itnerary would be something like this:
Day 1:
AK in the AM, Typhoon lagoon in the afternoon, EPCOT in the PM and Pleasure island until the wee morning hours.
Day 2:
MGM in the AM, MK in the PM, and Pleasure Island again.
Day 3:
MK in the AM, EPCOT for lunch, MGM for Fantasmic, Pleasure island again.

You get the idea... We like to park hop A LOT! Since we go during slow season, the latest any of the parks are open is generally 9:30pm (EPCOT). With the unlimited magic pass, we could go to all the parks, however many times we wanted, for as long as we were there. If we wanted to go to Typhoon lagoon and pleasure island 8 times in 8 days, we could.

Now I hear you only getting a certain number of "plus"s?! Is this true? Could I run out of pleasure island pluses by day 2 or 3 of our 10 day trip becuase I went to typhoon lagoon once each day and a theme park??? Can someone please explain this to me?

You must be a ball of energy:) I give you kudos for that.
There is no way I could do 3 parks and PI in the same day. I haven't even been there but I know if I have a full day of work (sitting at a desk), cooking dinner, and commuting, I hate to go to a club afterwards. I couldn't imagine going to 3 parks. I guess maybe if you just drop by to eat a restaurant and aren't walking around in the hot sun. And if I'm out until 2AM there is no way you can get me out of bed before 11AM... :)

Anyhow, yes there are a set number of pluses you can get with your MYW tickets.

Here is the breakdown

1-day ticket 2-day ticket 3-day ticket --> 2 visits
4-day ticket 5-day ticket --> 3 visits
6-day ticket --> 4 visits
7-day ticket 8-day ticket 9-day ticket 10-day ticket --> 5 visits

But you can buy separate tickets for Pleasure Island. Through ticketmania they are only $16 and if you get a mousesavers letter you can save a little bit more. Sometimes it's actually cheaper to upgrade the number of days on yoru ticket if you want more pluss (like if you have a 4 day pass and really want 5 pluses you will only pay a few bucks more)

Let's say you first had in mind a 3 day pass with the plus pack. That gives you two plusses.

A seven day pass costs thirty more dollars and the same $48. plus pack yields up five plusses on that pass. So you could get three more plusses for ten dollars apiece even if you wasted teh last four "days".

Of course you could add non-expiration at $59. to preserve teh 4 remaining days and that means fifteen dollars for a park day when you come back in the distant future.

Separate strategy: From time to time Pleasure Island offers a fivemore consecutive njights for five more dollars promotion when you bjuy a single all-club ticket atthe gate.
