I'm tired of it, i live so far away from disney and all these quests leave me out. Luckily a friend of mine is going to WDW and got me a thrill seeker quest, but im not going to bug him about High School Musical too. It's just not fair :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I am in the same boat. I am lucky that i am going in summer though but i do not even know wat HSM is so i will need help on that quest

That's why VMK is free. Disney is advertising it's parks and is using the quests to make you go there and spend money.

Actually I think it is perfectly fair. The reason VMk is free is because it brings people to the parks. The way it does that is with the quests. The majority of the players dont live by the parks, but they want you to go to them to get these items. You can always trade for items. I personally would rather it be like this and be free than have them start charging for it and be allowed to buy anything with credits. I think its great there is a new quest for the people heading to the parks this summer since they got rid of the mansion quest and the pirate quest. No i dont live anywhere near the parks either so it bums me out i cant get this stuff too, but I do think it's fair in order to keep the game free.

I realize yes that this is one big ad, as i have been told in the past. But they should have a At-Home Quest and maybe watch Disney movies. hmmmm not sure how they would distribute the prizes...

laxplaya1346, Disney is running a business. Yes, the game is free, but you can be sure they are going to make money off of it. I'm with you that it is frustrating, but I'm resigned to the fact that I'm going to have to do a lot of horse trading in order to get some of the cooler things.

I just gave my cousin a whole bunch of things for her to pick up for me while she's there (since a lot of my .PDFs expire 30 September) this week, and like you, I'm not going to call her on her cell phone and ask her to do one more thing for me! When I go in December, you can ask me to do the same for you. When you next go, you can do the same for someone else. Pay it forward.

Don't get discouraged, and focus on the things you CAN get! Think of our European players who not only can't get to the parks, but can't get on the game because of the time difference!

Ad astra per ardua.

Yes, kind of like what they did with the Herbie DVD.

I'm actually a little surprised they haven't done more prizes that are geared towards buying merchandise, in addition to prizes that are park-based.

My guess is that it's rather costly to put UNIQUE codes into each product package, especially when only a small fraction of people who buy the product actually will even play VMK.

And they need to use unique codes, because as we saw with the Kellogg's cereal prizes, codes get shared rather rapidly, so there's no marketing incentive.

Still, I think a Herbie DVD-like prize would make Disney money, if it were packaged with something that was expensive enough... Perhaps not as expensive as a $300-$400 trip-booking to get Stitch ears, but something more expensive than a $12 Herbie DVD...

I'm also surprised Disney hasn't tied in VMK prizes to even more of the products they are promoting -- for example, Disney Vacation Club tours and memberships. Disney has been pretty heavily promoting DVC at the kiosks in the parks and resorts, and the first step is to get people to do the free "open house". Imagine how many VMK players they'd be able to rope into doing the DVC tour, if they offered some nice, exclusive VMK prize card along with that... And it'd be financially worthwhile for DVC, given that anyone roped into joining DVC would be joining for at least ~$12,000...

Hey - be happy you can get that. I had friends go to WDW - but they did not have to time to get Thrill Seekers stuff for me. Still searching for that Animal Room and Kali chair.

Be happy - you are very lucky!
