Whats with all the bumping???

I have seen on threads people that just type Bump or multiple bumps in a thread is this some secret Disney code or what is the bump all about??

I also read in a fridge swap sticky the admin say in bold not to bump your thread repeatedly?

Could anyone fill me in!!

"bumping" is what people do to either subscribe to a thread or to put their thread to the top so more people will see it and read it.
