Just got an email for a trip for December this is a flight with a stop out of Pit to Orlando not even non-stop: Current Price: $627.40
(up $229.00 since tracking started on 02/26/09)
Purchase it now for $627.40

And this is a per person price.

You'd think with all of the planes that are sitting in the desert or on the tarmac--they'd lower their prices and get more business. I don't understand their crazy economics.

Wow that is high and what I am :confused3 about is the airlines are complaining about how sales are down and how much they are hurting and then I was watching a news program where they said they are expecting sales to pick up within the next year and they said they don't want this to happen because it was going to cause alot of dealys.
So do they want our buisness or not :confused3

I know!!! I'm getting quoted over $300 to fly from Charlotte to Savannah! I mean, come on!

minnie, sign up for yapta and watchdog airfare.

you'll get decent rates just released.

i signed up for daily emails from them.

this is the 3rd year i have used them and find i get better deals earlier.

american out of ohare has non stops to orlando for $158 til the end of the year.

the other carriers are in the $275 range for my same dates.

for some parts of the us you will find decent to great rates depending on the airport you are using.

Also, if you are within driving distance to other airports check them out. For our upcoming trip flights were really expensive out of the airport closest to my house (about 15 min). I'm driving to the next one out (about an hour away) and got $74/pp on the way down and $78/pp on the way back.

If you can stand to wait until about 6 mos. prior Southwest flies out of PIT. If their fares are anything close to flying out of Philly, you should do way better.
We usually pay $49-$79 + tax each way for nonstops to MCO. Even the Fri before Thanksgiving 08 we only paid $59.

They probably won't release December dates until June.

I can verify that! We always fly SW from Philly and have hardly ever payed over $79 a person one way to MCO. We are going in May, but because we are going to Atlanta first for my nephew's graduation we had to use Airtran (still was patient and got the flight there for $54). Anyway, our flight home to Philly on SW is only $59

Not sure when SW is opening up their flights for October (for me to book for our HHN trip) or you for December

I did use Airfare Watchdog for Airtran, but more than that, I had a shortcut to their site in my Firefox toolbar, and checked it every day!

I did (and will do) the same thing with the SW site, it only takes 5 minutes, and it always pays off.

They will be releasing new calendar on Tues. 4/14 for dates up to and including 10/30. You can always check this by clicking on Travel Tools and it will announce dates there. The new dates usually show up around 11 am EDT but can be a little late. (The week we're cruising is very popular here for vacay, NJ schools close 3 days that week minimum, some all week. This will sell out very quickly. I'm so ready!)

Wait a few weeks after this release then it will announce the next release date under Travel Tools. It's usually end of June. These dates are subject to change and often do so it's good to recheck occasionally.

Thanks for that info! I've been checking their website for our October trip too.
