What's up with Sci Fi in August?

Starting on 8/11/19, Sci Fi is not showing up at all to make ADRs on MDX. But ABC Commissary is. I'm wondering if Sci Fi is getting a refurb or if it has anything to do with the SWGE opening. And the commissary a TS restaurant? Yuck. Anybody know for sure what's going on?

You're right. I was trying for lunch on the 11th or 12th and there's nothing, but I went ahead and reserved for dinner on the 14th. Thank you.

We've eaten at PT fairly recently but haven't tried Sci Fi in years. I was checking out the menu and they had me at "fried pickles".

I have an ADR at Sci Fi on 8/22. ABC started taking ADR as QS...not my favorite but it's nice to know you will have a seat.

Glad you found something. Just wanted to point out that Sci Fi is a popular place & it is often hard to get reservations, especially for lunch. I am not surprised you are having a hard time at 2 months out.

Keep checking . I got Sci-Fi yesterday for 8/15/19. I checked every few hours for 2 days and was finally able to snag a lunch reservation.

NO referb just VERY popular!

We will be there on SWGE opening day and tried and tried to get a lunch ADR, snagged a dinner, 6:35 but then thanks to Mouse Dining lunch showed up yesterday for 11:45!! Snagged that bad boy quick!

Hmm, it's an easy and free way to be alerted when certain dining reservations open, google it, sign up and wait for the text and most of all when that text does come, act FAST as they can fill quick, even this morning I got texts for Sci-Fi.........good luck!

You can get text message alerts when ADRs open. The Touring Plans website has a similar feature.

I have a late (for us) lunch reservation at Sci-Fi for 8/28. It was the first thing I booked approximately 30 seconds after my window opened, and the only lunch time that was available for all six days of our trip. I’m hoping an earlier time opens up. I could book or change times for a lot of other very popular hard to get ADRs for at least a few days after my window opened, but not this one. I think it’s just really popular, especially since there are so few good options in DHS. Keep trying, things will probably open as people solidify their plans.

Okay, thanks everyone! I'm so surprised that Sci Fi is so popular, that's apparently why there were no ressies available when I first looked. I always think of Sci Fi as one of those restaurants you can reserve with no problem ever. Not a walk in, but a month, two months? Things have c h a n g e d, y'all. We ended up getting a lunch res that works for us. I hope the food is good, I KNOW the theme is.
