What's up with Donald Duck?

It's good to know about Daisy always being at the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. My daughter desperately wants to see her!

I think we've seen Donald twice. Once was on Main Street but we they took him away right before our turn and then we saw him in the Anamators Building, but that was 2 years ago.

We got pictures with Donald at Goofy's Kitchen! One of my favorite photos of the kids. He kissed my daughter on the head.

I love Donald. His classic cartoons are hilarious, and he's a character I really empathize with. Bad temper, life always handing him the short end of the stick, living in the shadow of someone more successful and popular. :rolleyes1

A character you see even less than Donald is Daisy. I'm most inclined to believe the reason for their elusiveness is costume difficulty.

I empathize with him, too. A lot. Temper...short end of the stick...shadow...::yes::

And I find his cartoons the best, too.

So that's why he's my favorite.

When we went last July, I only saw Donald during F! but not walking around. Shame, I would have loved to have gotten a pic with him. :worried:

Anyways, someone mentioned the problem with Don is finding a small enough CM--that's what I've heard, too. Makes me mad Donald is so...rare. :furious:

Oh no! I love Donald and hope to see him in DL! I saw him at EPCOT, in the Mexico pavillion with the other two Caballeros. He tried to steal me away after I told him he was my favorite!:rotfl2:

One of my friends sent a link with her girls from this area and my two boys were jealous! That is the one character area they really want to do next year. We just missed them last year and I hear about it frequently.

We love Donald Duck. The boys watch the old cartoons with Donald and love the one where he gets a plunger stuck to his behind. Sure we made security laugh at Target when they stuck plungers to their behinds and pretended to be Donald!

We only saw Donald one time on our trip last year, other than in the parade and Fantasmic of course. We ran in to him on Main Street just as a line was starting to form for pics. But it was on our way back to the hotel after a long, hot day and our DS, barely 2, had already crashed! We even tried to wake him up cause next to Mickey, he was one of his faves! But even that didn't work! Guess we just wore him out!

When I was a child Donald was always out and about in the park but now it seems Disney has neglected the poor fellow for a couple decades.

I like Donald, he is a true Disney classic and provides a different angle than any of the other characters. I couldn't take Donald every day but he is definitely welcome in my mind.

Maybe Donald comes off as too abrasive, too stressed, too tempered for total saturation to the overly PC powers at be at Disney.

You are so right. I think it's a matter of not figuring out how to "market" him successfully. He doesn't fit neatly into the "heroes", "princesses", "villains", "pirates" theming. I remember him well as a kid, and now I hardly ever see him. Daisy, never! We're doing the Donald character breakfast at Animal Kingdom in November just to please me. I know the ducks aren't as PC as some of the other characters. Donald is grumpy (but for some reason, Grumpy is very popular...) and Daisy is fiesty. I like that they're not perfect! They were my 2 favorites as a kid. I had a Donald stuffed animal from my very first DL trip in 1978 for so many years. Fool that I was, I gave it away when I packed up and went to college. Wish I still had that vintage Donald!!

I have a massive fear of characters... I know, weird... But I would be brave and stand next to Donald and Goofy for a photo if it was possible.
I love the Kingdom Hearts games, and even though I don't look like Sora, I'd love to have a photo of the 3 of us...

Daisy not perfect??? How dare you? I am shocked at this outlandish accusation. She is the perfect character. But that mean Minnie is just jealous and has the ear of the mouse. And the Donald carried that company on his back throught the 40's and 50's. But even his starring attraction at WDW bares the name of that mouse.
BTW, when I came across this thread, I was watching the Chronological Donald, a collection of his old work. The DVD is in bad shape, but what I can see is great. On our trip to DL this October, I may have to book the breaKfast with Daisy, but I don't know if I can keep food down with Stitch around. At least he is silent there, so no breaking into Elvis.

I think breakfast with Daisy would be great....Ill bring the Oust just in case Stitch gets funky....lol

Here's my kids with Donald last month ~

Glad to know I was not the only one who found Donald to be a bit, illusive. At least we got to meet him and get his autograph! I loved how he signed it... "Donald Duck #1" :)

In all of our trips we had never seen him. But, during my solo trip last February he tried to sneak past me without me noticing. He tried but it didn't work and I got this picture while he was tip-toeing near the back side of the Mad Hatter Shoppe. ;)

DTD booked our flights and car rental for DL. For Oct...and we will sure be on the look out for Donald...I hear sometimes can be spotted in the Hotel lobbies on site.
