Whats up with B11???

So on all four of my Disney Cruises I have seen the B11 chant. What is the meaning behind it or is it just a fun thing to do? Thanks! I'm thinking about being the BINGO caller at the restaurant I work at and want to use the B11 Chant.

B11 chant??? I'm not familiar with this at all....in any way shape or form, , even after doing two Disney Cruises, so I can't wait to read more answers/details.

In 9 cruises I've never heard the B11 chant I'm also interested as to what it is.

I guess it depends on the Bingo Caller.

But whenever B11 is called all of the CM's in the rooms start to bounce up and down and go, "B 11 B B 11 raise the roof now B 11 B B 11 do the sprinkler B 11 B B 11 old fashioned sprinkler B 11 B B 11 new sprinkler B 11 B B 11," and some go off and do more but most end it there… It's really fun.

Yes, they did this exact thing at Bingo on the Dream cruise we got off of yesterday....do not know the meaning. I don't usually frequent Bingo onboard but my mom wanted to go!!!

Every CM we have asked on all cruises we have been on claims they don't know the origin, but that it was taught to them when they came onboard.

When we were on the Magic they said it's B11 because in Spanish (I think?) it's B-once like Beyonce! Loved this when we played Bingo!

I think it is just a fun thing to do. I love cruise ship Bingo. All the different cruise lines have funny saying for the numbers called at Bingo.

I remember years ago on RCL, B10 was Tony Blairs den. Still sticks with me every time I hear B10.

I would love to be a Bingo caller like on DCL.

I had to log in to respond to this. My DH is addicted to cruise ship bingo. Not sure why but he doesn't drink alcohol so it all evens out!!

My DD and I attend frequently with him just for the fun and will sometimes get the paper cards. They have done this on all 5 cruises we have been on. But just as a word of advice, this is a DCL thing and not a normal bingo thing. My MIL is addicted to bingo (hmm, seems to run in the family ). Anyway, she would have a fit if someone did this at the regular bingo.
I'm a caller at our school for bingo (Catholic school - go figure) and every time I call B11, I do a little wiggle in my seat and do the B11 chant in my head. And yes, the people at our bingo would have also have a fit if I did it. But I swear, the last bingo I need to call before my daughter graduates, I'm doing to B11 dance!!!

I thought about this but when i Did some searching on google I found that some callers at other restaurants do the same thing. So I guess If i get the chance to call, I'll ask my manager what the feeling of the crowd was.

I like the B-once origin. Thats both logical and fun!

Ah one of our fond memories of Bingo! We just got of the Magic last week, and only got to hear the B11 Chant once!

Funny story though....We were on the Magic last Nov and played bingo everyday, we came quite an expert at the B11 dance! Anyway when we were at the Muster station last week, my husband looked over at our Muster Station person and said isn't that Carly "The B11 lady" from our last cruise, sure enough it was!

Oh and she told us the Spanish B-once, Beyonce story too!

One of my favorite memories from past cruises. A girlfriend and I often mention it. She's in a different state now, so I'll have to Facebook her and tell her I'm thinking of her.

The B11 chant during Bingo on DCL has been going on for as long as I can remember (which is 2005 on the Magic). It's to the tune of "Be Aggressive" and it's just one of those catchy little calls. Different groups of cruise staff over the years have had different catchphrases for different numbers -- a lot have come and gone, but the B11 chant has always remained. At this point, I don't even think any of the current cruise staffers on any of the ships know where it came from. It's just one of those things that's been passed down, so to speak.

I will tell you that it definitely does not come from the "Beyonce" thing. They only started doing that about two or three years ago when they got the Spanish Bingo caller app. I remember a CM making a comment in... maybe 2010 about how he thought it was so funny that B11 just so happened to sound like "Beyonce" because B11 was such a musical call on DCL.

It was extremely sad being on the Dream last March during Bingo when B11 was called... the CMs there were all brand new to DCL and theydid the dance, but had no idea why they were doing it. Most of the people in the room were first time DCL cruisers/new to Bingo and just looked at them like they were nuts. It took a lot of the fun out of it!

OMG I would love to use the funny chants and sayings they do on DCL bingo at our Catholic School bingo every Sunday night! Those old ladies would absolutely freak! Good payback for all of the years of being so grumpy! One lady complains every single week because they don't sell Wavy Lays only regular. We have nicknamed her Wavy Lays!
