I am visiting US/IOA in May for the first time ever. I am a 10 time WDW visitor who pretty much does everything there, so I have no problem being the lone adult doing kids activities. At WDW, the only things that are just too childish/hold no appeal are Playhouse Disney (I have never been interested in even trying this one), the Teacups (although honestly its the spinning rather than the child/adult factor), and the kidcot stops at epcot (I would love to do them but don't think its appropriate without a kid). On the other hand, I love Barnstormer, Dumbo, Tom Sawyer Island, even the Honey I shrunk the kids playground (as much just to walk through for theme, I don't necessarily "play").

Reading up on US/IOA, it seems that there are a greater number of kid-only attractions. I think I can safely rule out Barney, but what about the rides. Can adults without children ride any of the kid-zone rides? Or the playgrounds? I don't want to run around and play in the balls, but can I walk though just to see it, or is it monitored and only children are allowed in?

Without children, what is inappropriate or inaccessible to me as an adult? Thank you!

In US, I would recommend almost everything except maybe the Curious George Playground and the Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse Coaster. They both pale in comparison to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground.

However, everything else is fair game! E.T. is great, Nicktoons is a lot of fun (provided you don't have a bad back) and Shrek 4-D is actually intense.

In IOA, I would recommend everything, and this is a place where the Jurassic Park playground is actually better than Honey's. Cat in the Hat is awesome, and if you want a tamer ride, the Carousuessel is a trippy time.

In IOA Pteranodon Flyers is the only right that Adults cannot go on without a child with them. Also, in the dr. Seuce landing i love it. It makes you feel like a kid again. and On US side i think all the rides are adult friendly. In Curious George Goes To Town you should be fine going in and walking through because i have seen parents walk with their little ones. It shouldn't be a problem. I love all the rides except im not a rollercoaster fan so i stay away from RRR. I have rode the mummy and it wasn't a bad ride. And the kid in you will love jimmy Neutron and Shrek.. So, don't worry and go have fun.

Can adults ride the Nuthouse Coaster? I hear the recommendation to skip it, but would I have to or just should?

Yes adults can ride the nuthouse coaster. My son (18) likes riding it. and yes adults in Pf in jurrasic park can only ride with a child.

At Universal Studios, skip Barney. I've never seen it and have no desire to. Along with Barney, I'd include the Fievel Playland and Curious George as avoidable too. But do The E.T. Ride. Woody Woodpecker Coaster is also geared towards kids, but you might like it since you like Barnstormer. I haven't done either coasters but I expect that they would be similar to each other.

At IOA, there are quite a few rides that are geared toward children. Pteraddon Flyers won't even allow an adult on without a child, although I've heard that the restriction is lifted in the first hour that the park is open. Camp Jurassic is a kid play area that you can avoid. The nearby Jurassic Park Discovery Center is worth exploring.

Me Ship, The Olive is a child play area that I avoid. It's located in IOA's Toon Lagoon.

At Seuss Landing, the rides I avoid are One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (similar to Aladdin's Magic Carpets at MK) and Caro-Seuss-el. I will do Cat In The Hat and The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride (similar to The Tomorrowland Transit Authority at MK). As for the If I ran the Zoo playarea, I avoid that too.

But it has the great water guns for shooting people on popeye! :rotfl:

Forgot to mention, I've been on Nuthouse coaster too, it was ok (although obviously as a kids coaster very tame) :)

Ok like the post before it is true that One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is similar to aladine but it has a twist u have to listen to the music if u follows the directions u wont get wet but if u don't follow them u will get squirted. but if u like to explore u should do all that u want. there isn't a restriction for you to go in the camp jurrassic.

Mkay. So it sounds like PF may be the only real no-go (other than Barney, which is fine with me). I know the playground areas won't take much time, but walking through, seeing theming, taking pictures, to me that is fun. Thanks for all of the responses. I have never felt silly as a child-free adult at WDW (ok, maybe not never, but rarely) but I also know that many parks (like Six Flags or other local Amusement parks) really have a strict separation between kids areas and adult areas. Since US/IOA are more thrill oriented and have marked "kids" areas, I wasn't sure if that meant the kids areas were off-limits to adults (as they often are at other parks). It sounds like it won't be a problem, so thank you everyone!

Don't miss ET. I know it is for kids, but I love the forest that the line meanders through.

You should definitely at least ask to ride the Pteranodon Flyers if the wait isn't too long.I've been to IOA a gazillion times and have only tried to go on it twice because I know they usually require you to be with a kid or the more likely reason I don't try and ride it because it usually has a huge wait since it's so low capacity.Of the two times we tried to ride it once we got denied and the other time they let us go on it,but even with a posted 20 min wait it took like 40 long minutes. If the wait isn't long and you have the time you can at least ask,if they deny you ask a family to borrow a kid.

You'll have no problems. I absolutely love Seuss Landing, and I'm pushing 50. Have a great time!
