What's this Mardi Gras celebration all about?

I just realized that I will be at Universal during the Mardi Gras celebration time- the 27th (Thurs) and the 28th (Fri.) to be exact. What goes on? What special events take place?

When are the parades? Which park do they have them in? Are there fireworks? What time are the parades?

The parades usually occur at park closing. Mardi Gras is at USF. There are no fireworks during Mardi Gras.
