We are planning to stay at Art and just curious about how everyone feels about Art of Animation Resort-- Good, Bad, or Indifferent.
Thanks in Advance .
Just got back last week from a stay in a Nemo suite. We loved it! I can't say anything about the Mermaid rooms as I wasn't in one, but the suite was fantastic. If it was an adults only trip I may have chosen a Deluxe, but the theme is great and the kids loved it, as did I. Had absolutely no complaints at all. The busses can be a bit of a wait... but I think that is the case in most resorts.. so I can't really comment too much on that.
Last sept we stayed in a LM room for 1 night and it was cute, but the full size bed when you're used to a king was rough and the walk from our room was so far away from animation hall so I wasn't a fan. The rest of our trip we stayed in a Nemo suite and it was fantastic! I loved the extra space and having 2 bathrooms. Disney got it right when they brought these family suites into the value resort mix. Some have said you can stay at a deluxe for what you pay for the suite, but the added space is well worth it. We always bring my mother along so DH and I like some privacy. You won't be disappointed with this resort.
WE stayed in a LK suite last year and it was wonderful. We normally stay at the deluxe resorts and I was quite happy at AoA.
The kids, DH and I all agree that we would like another stay at AoA!
Here now at Nemo suite and it is wonderful. We are a family of 5 and have stayed at values, moderates and Wilderness Lodge and this is definitely our favorite. It's so nice to have the extra room in the suite.

With 5 of you - what do those sleeping on the sofa bed and table bed think of the comfort? We are only staying one night at Nemo to give it a try and then moving to a mod w/ two rooms. Kids really liked the idea of AOA, but they weren't sure about comfort of beds and (gasp) sharing a bed. But I have two teens and a 10 yo that will be on this trip - so that could make the difference.
We stayed at AoA last December for a split stay in both a Lion King suite then in 2 Little Mermaid std rooms. We loved it. I will say we enjoyed to suite much more then 2 std rooms.
In the suite our DD 7 slept comfortable on the bed that folds into the table and our DD24 and DS22 shared the sleeper sofa. They seemed to be okay with the sleeper sofa. We really enjoyed all the space we had in the suite compared to the std rooms. Also the walk to the bus stop and the food court wasn't bad from the Lion King suites.
When we moved to the std rooms in the Little Mermaid section DD24 and DS22 shared one room and DH, DD7 and I shared the other. It felt tight to DH and I even with just the 3 of us. But we also like to spend a little time at the resort and in the room so the bigger the room the better. I think it would have been fine if it had been just the two of us in a king bed and DD7 shared the room with her older siblings. The walk was also noticeable at the end of the day. It wasn't too bad in the morning but when we were done at night the walk truly felt significant.
The resort itself was beautiful and I would go back in a heartbeat but only in a suite. We have done all of the value resorts and if I had to go back and stay in a value room again I would do ASMo in a preferred room. JMHO
We stayed for one night prior to checking into AKV. We were in a cars suite. Very nice and plenty of room for two people. The resort itself is amazing with the theming. Food court had a good selection. Pool was nice. My DS loved the underwater sound system. Didn't use the transportation.
Glad to hear that everyone was happy with this resort. Wish we could afford a suite, but it's only my husband and myself so hopefully it won't be to crowded.
Thanks again for the info.
I haven't stayed there. I wandered the grounds, checked out the food court and gift shop.
It seemed really cool. I'm thinking of staying there next year for part of my stay if I can get a room. I'd need just a Little Mermaid room and those seem to fill up fast.

My girls are 3, 7, and 12 and had no complaints. I was pleasantly surprised with the pullout/pulldown beds. I confess I needed a serious nap today (next to last day of 10 days) and snoozed with the 3 year old on the pull out and it was quite comfy, you don't feel those bars or anything like that with some sofa beds, and the pull down bed is so easy to use. I think you guys will love your one night!
