Since it's raining, I've decided to make gravy and I was thinking how weird it is that we eat hard boiled eggs in gravy (tomatoe sauce for the non italians:D ) along with our neck bones. Maybe its not weird? Anyone else make this?

Actually I made a weird thing yesterday that my nonni made for me when I was little - stuffed zucchini flowers. Just love'em and can only make a few at a time - all mine!

Oh, yeah! It's weird, alright... hard boiled eggs in tomato sauce? neck bones? referring to it as "gravy"? --

But I guess if you like it... LOL;)

That doesn't sound appetizing, but to each his own...

I'm partial to the 'Navy Breakfast' as it's called around here. My dad got us girls hooked. It's Thomas' English muffins (accept no substitutes), with corned beef hash and baked beans. Yes, I have specific brands for those, too. Everyone I know thinks it's weird, but we like it. It's best served with a 'pineapple fizz', pineapple juice and ginger ale.

creamed egg on toast
I make hard boiled eggs ....ahead of time.....then make a white sauce in a large pan.....with enough milk and thickener.....and then cut up the eggs in it.....make sure it is a good consistency and then put it on toast points.......even hubby will eat those ....
because we are hunters.....we also have meat balls.....but people know them as deer balls....bear balls and mooseballs.....I make these and drop them in my spaghetti sauce when I am making it for the family......yummy....

I love almost all kinds of food.....but Laura, I cannot fathom the conncoction you just described. Not necessarily "yucky", just can't imagine how it would taste. Anyway, Enjoy!

I make something called Tater Tot Pie. A friend of mine's mother used to make it for me. It's easy to make. First you brown and drain some ground beef...about a pound or so. Then you stir in 1 cup of milk, a can of tomato soup and a can of another cream soup (I use cream of celery). Once that is stirred together you pour it over a layer of tater tots in a baking pan. Throw a couple more tater tots on top and stick it in the oven. I usually put the oven on whatever it says on the tater tot package. You know it's done when you see the top tater tots golden brown. Before you take it out of the oven throw on a bag of shredded cheese, let it melt and Voila! I usually eat it plain but sometimes I put ketchup on it. It's very creamy and tastes even better when it's reheated! I love it.

Um, okay, can I have some clarification here now? Do you mean meatballs, like what you make with hamburger or an anatomy type thingy? Sorry to ask, but I just need to know.

I don't cook in any way, shape or form, by my parents are southern (Alabama and Mississippi) and when I was growing up (we lived in PA, mind you), they hade fried okra and lima beans and rotel (NO clue what the heck that is to this day LOL), and lots of other gross stuff. That's how I became best friends with the pizza delivery man :)
