What's the threshold for combining both dinners?

We're on the 4 night Canadian cruise on the Dream next month. It looks like it's still about half open. We were on a DCL cruise several years ago that got rerouted due to a hurricane. It was almost empty so they combined both dining times together. Do they do that often and does anyone know what the threshold is?

I have no idea what the threshold might be, but on our Hawaii cruise a number of years ago, they combined one rotation into early seating only (so there were 5 seatings).

Ive never heard of this and id be pissed. I love my later dining.. We eat around 730 at home anyway, going to 5 would be a diaster for me.

When they did it on our cruise a few years ago it was at a time between the the early and late dining. I think 6:30 or something? We always do late dining, too.

On last year's NYC to San Juan cruise, the ship was just under half full and they offered a single seating at 6:30pm, followed by the show after. So, not quite as early as first seating, but much earlier than second seating.

It wasn't great. The time was awkward. The servers were extra busy and didn't have time to chat. The tables were closer together. There was no piano in Lumiere's because of the extra tables.

Yupp, we were on that one . . . (and typically prefer early show / late dining). Plus 'cause of Covid, we were hoping for a deuce.
