What's the shortest...

Trip you've ever taken to WDW? Was thinking of possibly taking a very short trip down in MAYBE November for our first trip. I know we wouldn't possible be able to fit everything in, but just wanted to know who else here may have taken a short trip to the World.

About 5 hours, but that doesn't really count. I was in Orlando for the Citrus Bowl as a member of the Ohio State University Marching Band. Actually, I was there for 3 different Citrus Bowls, so I've done 3 different 5 hour trips. I'm not counting the performance time, just the free time in the park after the performance. On the bright side, I have seen the backstage area of MK more than once.

And I do believe that on one of those Citrus Bowl trips, my Buckeyes got beat by your Georgia Bulldogs.

I flew down from NY with my daughter for a long weekend when I got a ridiculously low airfare and a great hotel deal. :) Of course we didn't fit everything in, not even close, but we had a ball. I wouldn't do it again without similar deals, but it was kind of a fun adventure.

Two summers ago, my husband and I flew from Philly at 6AM on a Wednesday and landed back in Philly at 8PM on Thursday. So that's what? 40 hours?

It was a BLAST! We hit the MK, Epcot and AK. We knew going in what it was - a last minute - cheap deal quick trip, so we did not build up expectations of having to see or do certain things. We had a lot of fun!

It was definitely worth it.

We go up for the day when we feel the need to get away from things. As long as you know you won't be able to see too much you should enjoy your trip. If it is during the first half of November the Food and Wine festival will still be going on too.

My first solo trip was extremely short, just one full day in MK. From check in at POR to pulling away in Mears was 32 hours.

A couple summers ago, me and my family drove down to Clearwater Beach, Fla, and on the way home we stopped in Downtown Disney to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. :teeth:

But other than that, we went down for a long weekend for my birthday a few years ago.

My ex-GF and I flew down New Years Day 2000 from Indiana, got there in time for the park opening @ MK, spent the day, and flew back that night.

THAT is a short trip!!

It's funny b/c NO ONE was flying. Y2K bug ring a bell? We pretty much had the plane to ourselves coming and going on that trip.

I do apologize for that!! LOL :teeth:

The shortest trip we ever took as a family was 4 nights and 4 days. The first night we arrived at 9pm or something, so I don't count that as a day in the parks. We spent 3 1/2 days in the parks - the 1/2 day was the day we were leaving. We arrived late on a Friday night and left on a Tuesday night.

We're doing this again this fall but we're arriving around 1pm on Friday - we still will probably NOT go to a park. Then we're leaving on Tuesday around 1pm. I started this "tradition" last year as a surprise trip from my DH's birthday. Two years in a row - and I'm hoping I can keep doing this.

We take longer trips in the summer. Last summer's trip was 10 days. This summer's trip is 8 days. Next summer's trip is 12 days. And if they do Star Wars weekends in 2007, we'll probably do a 3 night trip just for that.

We did one day after our first two cruises (so two one-day trips). On those trips, we just picked one park, and saw what we could.

Before our third cruise, we did two days (16-17 Dec 2004). And we actually fit in almost everything! Saw all 4 parks, ate a sit down meal both days, and saw Illuminations and the AK parade. The only thing we planned on but didn't do was Fantasmic (Wishes was MVMCP only during our trip). Our 2nd dinner ran slightly late, and the park closed earlier than I had planned. But we were up before park opening, made excessive use of fast pass, and stayed until closing.

My DH and I always joke about going just for a weekend, but then snap back to reality that it isn't possbile. Thanks to some of your posts, maybe I will surprise him with a trip. I know he would love it.

1 night and 1 day- My brother went to college in Florida so we went down for his graduation and on the way back up we stopped in Disney. We stayed at the Beach Club and they upgraded us to an awesome suite for free. It was our first stay at the BC and we were in the pool the whole time. Its one of the best trips I can remember, sometimes its better to keep it short and sweet!

That's alright, we also got beat by Tennessee and Auburn at the other two Citrus Bowls. The Buckeyes just don't have much luck against the SEC.

A weekend.
Come in Friday Night, leave Sunday afternoon.

I'll be flying down on Thusday morning in Nov and flying back on Sunday night. Almost 4 days. If you're planning on going around the 10th it might be too late to book, since it is the end of food and wine, soap weekend, and NJ teachers convention. I had a hard time booking DVC back when my booking window opened, and none of my wait lists have come through yet.

I've got you beat. I once was in Orlando on business and stopped in to the Magic Kingdom just for an ice cream cone (Butter Pecan) on Main Street! The whole experience took about 15 minutes...gotta love having an AP!!

We visit every few years for 3 or 4 days. We are in Orlando each fall to attend HHN at Universal and rotate our stays between Universal, WDW, and other area resorts.

You can't do everything but, if you plan to be back, pick your favorites and focus on those. We usually just attend 2 of the parks during our stay and take the other day to enjoy the other fun on WDW property.

Last year, I had some time to kill (and SW was selling $29 tickets) so on the way back from another trip, I stopped in Orlando, went to MNSSHP, stayed the night at WL, then flew home. Had such a great time that I did the same thing a month later for MVMCP.
