I have read on this site that if you have an outstanding reservation and were to sell your DVC membership prior to taking that trip, you would loose all the points tied up in that reservation. Are the rules the same if you were to sell only one of your contracts that had been used in securing part of an upcoming reservation? An example would be if I had one membership involving two contracts of 50 points each and had an outstanding reservation which was scurried with 75 points when the contract was sold. How would that outstanding reservation be handled?

The rule is that any existing reservation is cancelled and this is normally done when the transfer actually takes place at the end, not with the ROFR or closing per se. So it's possible to time a closing with a particular stay. You'd only lose the nights tied to the contract your selling and if you're pro active, can likely get DVC to fix it ahead of time by having them sub the points that won't be affected for those that will be.

Maybe the best thing to do would be to make sure that the Closing date is after your trip. That way you don't have to worry about any part of your reservation being cancelled.
