Hi has anyone been to the Rose and Crown lately ? We went in 1998 and 2001
but looking at the online lunch menu on here it looks as tho they removed things that the DH liked . We were thinking about going there for lunch but we have access to a couple of decent English or Irish pub/restautants in Philadelphia and AC So I may get my fish and chip fix at Cookes or Raglan in DTD since they have other food options for DH.The stand at the Yorkshire FnC only seems to do FnC

:thanks:

We were there last week. We have dined there many times.
There was a new chicken mushroom pie that was very good.

We ate there last night. My husband was a pork farmer in a previous life (before I met him) and he LOVED the porkloin. The man is picky about his pork so it must have been really good to get a compliment from him. I had the fish and chips- also very good.

Service started out not so great with checkin being really behind. Afte waiting for 40 minutes (and I did have an ADR) we were finally seated. The Cm was going to take us inside and after all of the wait time for a table outside, I insisted on it. We eventually got the table but were warned that the waiter may take a few minutes to even come take our drink order because he just had another large table of people seated in his area. We said we didn't care now that we were finally seated and knew we'd be able to see Illuminations.

Our waiter was Jamie and he was wonderful. He was NOT slow and yet he apologized over and over for taking too much time. He was great! Asked us many times if tere was anything he could get us. We will definitely be back to this restaurant.

Oh yeah...very good!

The pork was excellent, too. The Sunday roast was a tad salty, though.

We ate there over Christmas. I had the surf and turf and the steak was extremely tough. So, I would not recommend the steak. Might have been because it was soooo cold outside and that might have cooled the steak too quickly or something. The fish was great as always. We all had different appetizers which were a huge hit. (Do not know the names of these items off top of my head, so I will just explain them haha) I shared the cheese, jam and cracker app with my son's friend. My husband had the Scotch egg and my son had the butter poached shrimp. These were all delicious! So, stay clear of the steak and you should be great.
