Does faxing hotel room requests a couple of days before arrival, such as a certain floor, or corner room really do anything?

I know most would say that you have nothing to lose, But the three of us are going down in November during regular season and would like a shot at least at getting what we would like. We are staying at the CSR.

Do they really take the faxes into consideration or am I better off calling the hotel directly?

TIA

I thought I remember reading here, at Deb Wills' site and other sites that the word from WDW was that they would no longer take faxed requests? Whether that's actually happened in practice...? :confused3

I would call central reservations and have your requests noted in your reservation. Then you don't need to worry about them matching up a fax with your request. Keep in mind it is only a request and you will be fine.

Call then reservation center and put your requests on your reservation. The reservation is downloaded to the resort 5 days prior to you stay.

we have always faxed room requests and gotten what we asked for. The only time we ever had an issue was on our first trip and I sent a whole list, with what i didnt realize were conflicting requests. We were originally assigned a room with the usual priorities, like close to lobby and pool, but those buildings didnt not have villas with a second bath access off the hallway (OKW), which was really our first priority with a napping baby to consider. However one phone call and we were moved right away. The moral of the story keep it simple and ask only for whats really important to you.

In the past faxes did work but then the resorts got too many to possibly handle so the best bet is to as one poster has already said call CRO and have it noted on your reservation. Then it will be downloaded into their system. I doubt faxes are read much less recorded these days. The good thing though is that when you get there the CM's will usually do their best to see that you are happy with the room you get.
