What's the quietest Deluxe Resort during Peak Season?

Here we go...we're changing our plans once again. Currently, we're booked at the CR MK view (I know, I know) for Feb 08. However, after speaking with DH, he wasn't on board for a trip due to finances, kids in school, etc. But, if we booked for a late March during spring break, we could use our tax returns to pay for the trip and the kids wouldn't miss any school. And, the FL weather will be warmer, allowing the kids to swim, which they love. Which brings me to resort choices. After previewing the planning DVD, the family loved the BWI, YC and CR. Once they saw SAB, YC won hands down. (I'm still mouring the loss of the MK view at the CR...:sad2: ) The kicker is that we're moving from value season to smack dab in the middle of peak season. My question is for those who've traveled during this time: which deluxe resorts book quickly or are the most popular? We are a family of 5 (11, 8, & 6).

In other words, we're looking for a "quiet" resort, so maybe I should ask that? Which deluxe is the quietest?

Please disregard my other post - we're heading to WDW during peak season in March 2008. And instead of asking what's the most popular, I should have asked what's a "quieter" deluxe resort to relax and recharge the batteries. Any thoughts?

In my experience we stay conceirge at the Poly and its always peaceful and relaxing....much more so than the CR/

Cheers and good luck.

I am sorry, but no resort is "quiet" during Spring Break. Every resort is packed to the gills. Once you come to terms with that one, you can choose the best resort for you :). Since your kids like the looks of SAB, you are down to the YC and the BC. I find the BC to be a bit more "laid back" and the YC to be a bit more "stuffy". Both are elegant resorts close to both Epcot and MGM.

Stromalong bay is great, definitly but it is no way quiet. We love the both the YC & BC. I agree with Robin, you are going during peak season, which means lots of folks. May I ask why you need a really quiet resort? (not nosey, it may helps us give you more specific information)
WL may be a good choice for quiet, the lodge is huge and big which tends to muffle a lot of the noise. Plus the grounds are heavily wooded so once again gives off a peaceful, quiet atmosphere.

I'd agree with the PP about WL. We went in March 2007 and the parks were INSANE! It was really nice to come back to the WL and feel at peace. There were people there too but it was spread out and very peaceful.

The family traveling with us commented on it too; how nice it was after a hectic day at the parks.

OKW is definitely the quietest resort at WDW anytime. Peaceful too.

that say it is not next to any of the theme parks - so you probably will not like it.

how about BCV? but then you would be required to get a 2-bedroom - which would add to your quiet.

So the YC might work - but it won't be as quiet as the BCV.

We stayed at the CR garden wing (side that faces the lake) during spring break. It was actually very quiet in our little area. The tower was always bustling, but the pool wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We had a ground floor garden wing room. We would sit on the patio and the kids could play in the grassy area or the little beach. Things were very quiet back there.

The best part was being able to walk to MK.

OKW is definately the most laid back and quiet, especially if you stay further away from the main bldg.

The last two years we have stayed at BCV starting on Good Friday and including the week after Easter. We fouind the villas to be very quiet and around the resort was very peaceful. SAB was crowded, but not so much that we didn't relax and enjoy. So, if I were you I would stay at BC/YC. If you can swing a 2 bdrm DVC then I would stay at BCV or OKW. OKW will be quieter (and rooms are bigger), but nothing can beat SAB and the location.

Forgot to add.....

Witha family of 5 you would not fit into a standard WL room. You would have to go up in category. If price is a big factor, that could rule out the WL and the DVC rooms.

This is exactly the reason why we're looking for a "quieter" resort; with all that stimulation, it would be nice to unwind and recharge our batteries. We are planning to go over Easter in March. Are the crowds still very heavy at this time?

The only time the Tower of the Contemporary would be busy is in the mornings because of all the guests with breakfast ADR's at Chef Mickey's and the Concourse Steakhouse. The same goes at night when guests have dinner ADR's at those locations and more guests also go to the Outer Rim Lounge, so what is why I think it's more busy at night. However during the afternoons when both places are closed it is very quiet.

We just returned from the poly(concierge) about 2 weeks ago and I must say that is peak time at the parks but when we were at our resort it always seemed so quiet and serene.

I hear that Easter is actually one of the busiest times of the year, right up there with Christmas. If you're looking for something a little more laid back why not try Coronodo Springs or Port Orleans? The resorts seem spread out enough and also I think there's a ton of pools, so chances are you'll find one that's not crowded. It'll also save a bit on the cost.

Cheapest rack rate for the Beach Club over Easter this year was $429 a night.. and that's for 2 queens which I'm not even sure will cover you.

We stayed at OKW over the Easter break and loved it! It was SO nice to leave the chaos of the parks and arrive at the peace and quiet of OKW. The main pool area did get crowded during the afternoon, but I'm sure that that's the case at any on-property resort during Easter break. The quiet pools really were always quiet. The game room and the sandcastle slide were a big hit with the teens, too. Lots of teenage boys hung out at the shuffle board court, too.:)
