Whats the news on the billboard?

Has anyone seen the billboard uncovering yet? We are heading out on the redeye tonight. I'll try to post on my Palm Pilot if I see anything

I know someone said they were going down and would look. Just checking to see if I missed any posts on it.

It looked like they were doing some construction digging behind it on Friday when we left BWV for the airport. Let us know if anything has changed on it.

Nothing new when we went by last week also. I asked one of the cm's at the kiosk and she just smiled so I played along. I did mention Contemporary and she just smiled and said she couldn't tell. I thought I had heard it was being "unwrapped" on January 15th?

As of noon today, there is still no billboard. The "Coming Soon" sign is still there and the support base for something like a billboard is situated behind the sign.

The sign is located across from the entrance to the Bonnet Creek Resort on Buena Vista Drive behind Epcot.

If the present incentive ends Feb. 1st, maybe we'll have to wait until then to know.

I suspect the new billboard is going to be a huge "in your face" kind of thing for the benefit of the Bonnet Creek property.

Someone posted that they had been told there would be a price per point increase in March...it could be that it would be in conjunction with the announcement of a new property (if there is one!). I have a feeling that billboard is not changing anytime soon.

I heard about the price increase in March as well. Spoke with my Sales Rep on Saturday and she mentioned the price increase and that the Friends and Family incentive will end at the end of Jan. When I prodded about CR, she asked if I read it on the DISBoards and then quickly changed the subject. Each time I would try and bring it back up, she would change the subject again.

So, who knows what all that means. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

BTW, I will be down there in 3 weeks, so, if nothing happens btwn now and then, I'll be more than happy to post an update.

Just bought Saratoga Springs and when we were there we asked about the billboards. My Guide told us it is going to be a new DVC property but did not tell us where. My quess is they are trying to sell SAratoga Springs out before they announce the new property.

I was down there this past weekend for the EE preview. The flags are not specific to the billboad. They continue down the road.

I spoke with a couple of DVC CMs (at the kiosks) and they just said it was the stupidest advertisting scheme. They all told me it was to announce a new billboard.

Rumors of new DVC resorts (according to the CMs) are the big three--Contemporary, Hawaii, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. But there were clear to state that it was just rumor, they don't know any more than we do. In fact, one CM said we (DVC owners) would know before they did.

But as of 1/31, the new billboard was not unveiled.

I think we need to let this thread die. I was told by a source that Disney created the board to generate a lot of talk about DVC. And guess what it has worked. They said their marketing department came up with the idea to promote DVC.

Isn't Bonnet Creek affiliated with Disney? I don't know anything about the place, but I just thought since it was on Disney property, it was connected.
