What's the mousekeeping policy at DVC resorts?

We are thinking of staying at Beach Club Villas, but are not DVC members. What's the maid service policy for non-DVC guests? I thought I saw somewhere that if you were paying "cash" i.e., not using points and not a DVC member, you were treated as a hotel guest and got housekeeping every day, whereas DVC members only receive it every 4 days. Is this true, or does everyone only get housekeeping every four days? I love the idea of having a kitchen, but am not crazy about the idea of making my own bed on vacation!!

If you make your reservations directly through Disney and not through a DVC member, you will receive daily housekeeping. If you rent points from a DVC member, you'll receive the abbreviated housekeeping schedule.

Jel0511 is correct. If you have a cash (non-DVC) reservation, you will get Housekeeping service every day. I would like to note, however, that even if you have a DVC point reservation, you can pay an extra fee to have Housekeeping service every day (or on days of your choosing). I have done that many times.

AAAh, found the housekeeping schedule from a previous post...

$10 per day for a Trash/Towel (only remove trash and replace towels)

$25 per day for a Studio (Full cleaning/Linens/Towels/Supplies)

$30 per day for a 1BR

$40 per day for a 2BR

$60 per day for a GV

an extra set of soap/shampoo is $3

an extra coffee set is $3

A towel package (4 each bath towels/hand towels/washcloths and 1 bath mat) is $6

Tide detergent is $1

General Information: Housekeeping Services

Since Disney Vacation Club Resorts are designed to be your "home away from home," daily housekeeping service is not provided. However, each one-, two-, and three-bedroom Vacation Home is equipped with a washer and dryer, so you can keep towels, sheets—and even your travel clothes—fresh and clean. Members staying in studios and Inn Rooms may use the washers and dryers conveniently located throughout the resort. Laundry detergent is available for purchase. If you'd like, daily housekeeping service is available to you for a fee. For more information, please contact the front desk prior to your stay or at check-in.

* If your stay is for less than eight nights, you'll receive Trash & Towel service on day four.
* If your stay is for eight nights or longer, you'll receive full cleaning service on day four, and Trash & Towel service on day eight. After that, the cycle begins again on day twelve.

Trash & Towel Service
During this service, Housekeeping will:
* Empty the trash and put new liners in the trash bins
* Provide fresh bathroom linens
* Replace facial tissues, paper towels, and toilet paper
* Replenish coffee, sugar, cream, and sweeteners
* Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, sponges, and laundry detergent** as needed

Full Cleaning Service
During this service, Housekeeping will:
* Provide all Trash & Towel services
* Change the bed linens
* Vacuum and dust
* Clean the bathroom(s)
* Clean the kitchen/kitchenette and wash the dishes

**Only provided in one-, two-, and three-bedroom Vacation Homes

Pay as You Play
At the start of your stay, you'll be provided with the following amenities free-of-charge. After that, you may purchase more at the following rates:

Soap Package
$3.00 (1 facial soap, 1 body soap, 1 shampoo)

Coffee Package $3.00 (1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers)
Towel Package $6.00 (4 bath towels, 4 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath)
Tide® $1.00 (1 box)

Housekeeping Daily Rates Studio/Inn Room $25 per day requested
One-bedroom Vacation Home $30 per day requested
Two-bedroom Vacation Home $40 per day requested
Grand Villa/Beach Cottage $60 per day requested
Trash & Towel $10 per day requested
