I've got someone telling me they can buy direct from DVC at 100 points at the Poly????

It just doesn't sound right. It's been 160 pt minimum for a number or years. It was 150 when we joined in '99.

Wow! I had no idea--must be because it's so expensive. Thanks!

the minimum has been whatever you can persuade your saleperson down to for quite some time. many people have reported buying in at 50 points.

I've seen several posts of people buying in at 50 points. We just bought in at 25 points resale.

It is definitely 50 (not lower)
They can/will only sell under 50 if it is an add on for a DVC member-we were on the waiting list for BWV back in nov/dec and wound up finding a small resale contract while on the wait list-right before we closed on our resale DVC called and now had points avail-we had decided by that time we actually wanted 25 in addition to the 60 point resale contract we had purchased but they could not sell us less than 50 until we were officially members-so they held the 25 points for us (for 10-14 days) until we were officially members with a "master contract" that they could put them under. We were told they did not sell master contracts under 50 points (obviously this can be done via resale)

We were offered VGF with as little as 100 points. The examples page for their consumer loan payments started at 100 and went to 900 points.

It depends on the salesperson and how much they want a sale to be honest

There have been several reports of people buying in at 25.

We just bought 75 at Poly, and were told the minimum is 50, though add-ons could be anything, even 5 points.

I posted my recent experience-our "guide" called DVC admin to see if they would allow a sale of 25 pts without a master contract and they said no (minimum of 50) so they held those points until my resale was transferred into my name and then sold the points to me as an add on-maybe they have made exceptions to allow 25 in the past?

DVD changes their policy like the wind. When sales are meeting expectations they require higher buy ins, when sales are less then forecasted, they lower them.

If we could get buyers to hold off for a few months, direct prices won't be lowered but we would see free bonus points, free DCL vacations and other bonus incentives like a few years ago.

Plus we really only want 50 points, kinda tough to get resale and the prices aren't much better than they were through DVC.

Now we have to decide if we want to wait to see if VGF becomes available soon, adding on at BLT or perhaps buying at the Poly, though we'd probably need 100 points there and I really don't want to own a 4th resort.

that is what i have heard. i believe sometimes they will make whatever exception they need to make a sale if they want to. nothing is written in stine.
