I don't know. I guess I would call myself a vet, but not by the standards set forth in the poll on this thread. I went one or more times a year every year between 1981 and 1988. Then I did not go back again until 1995. Then after another long break I went back again in 2003. I honestly thought that may be my last ever trip. I had run out of Disney friends and family members. But the partner I have been with for a few years now loves theme parks. So we have been four times in the past two years with many more trips planned (twice more this year and three times next year). So I feel like a vet despite the big gaps in my trip taking

I'd consider myself a PARK vet-10 times between 12/2003 and 1/2010 and then we moved to within 10 minutes of the parks from 2011-2013 (went too many times to count during this time) and then recommenced our trips in 2016, BUT I am a rookie when it comes to staying onsite because of my dog travelling with us (twice during the entire time frame, with our 3rd coming next year).

Have been to Disney thirteen times in nineteen years. Our oldest is twenty years old, enough said. Didn't find Disboards until I was researching a 2013 trip to Disneyland. I was amazed by the wealth of information and support that was available. Made my trip to Disneyland so much easier to plan. I still check in from time to time, whether it's a question I need an answer to or looking to see if I can help someone with their question. Great web site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a DVC member and annual passholder. Visit WDW two to four times per year and DL once every year. Seems like I am always planning a Disney trip.

Been going at least every other year since 1982. There were a few times in the first 20 years we went two years in a row. The last ten years I've gone at least once a year and the past 4 or 5 years I've had an AP and go at least twice a year, this year I'll get 4 trips off my AP. Our style of touring hasn't changed since the first time we went when my son was just shy of 3. We go, if we want to ride a ride, we stand in line, it's not all about rides for us and wasn't even when my son was small. We've always stayed on site, in the beginning at the monorail resorts since they were the only on site. We've always taken breaks at some point during the day. We've always had park hoppers. We don't plan anything, make ADRs day of and FPs usually when we are standing in line.

We live fairly locally and go often so I'd consider myself a vet. But I'm still pretty new to these boards and have learned so much (and am still learning) that I sometimes question that status! :P

Probably been around 20 times this year. We live around an hour and a half away. I would guess that we average around 12-15 visits per year in the last 4 years. Only stayed on site 4 times since we're local and it's hard to justify.. lol

I have no idea how many times I've been to the parks. I stopped countiing when I moved to the area. I definitely qualify as a Disney vet due to the number of visits, but I don't feel I am as qualified as I used to be. I used to know just about everything to be known. I don't feel that way anymore. Things change so fast at the parks and things have become so complicated. I don't even try to keep up. I just go when I want and follow the flow!

WDW Vet of 40 years here:wave: Couldn't tell you how many times we've been..100? But I know people who live nearby who are there at least twice a week, compared to them I'm just a beginner. :earsboy:

I was a DCP person, so I would classify myself as a park veteran. However, I've been on these boards lurking and posting since way before I was a park veteran.

I consider myself a veteran-this December will be my 9th trip since 1992, most of the trips taking place since 2006.

Went a lot of times as a kid, then didn't go for several years, then went a lot more in more recent years

LOL, you need the over 10 years, over 10 trips category! Our first trip was 1985, went twice a year for 10 years, took a break only a couple here and there (had kids), then back to at least one a year for the past 10 years, 2010 was 3 trips in one year.

Certainly our style has changed in terms of what we do - when we started there was only MK and EPCOT. So we've been able to slowly learn about and adapt our style to all the parks that came after. We used to do 4 day trips and one of those would be Typhoon Lagoon. We'd buy 5 day park hoppers which didn't expire and use 2 one trip, 3 the next.

I help people plan their first trip now, it's amazing how much work it is to plan a trip now. I don't know if I could do it if I hadn't started back in the 80s.

Missing a demographic.

Need - "Used to go frequently, but it's changed so much I've found other happy places."

I spin by the boards every few weeks to keep an idea of the pulse, but neither the parks, (nor these boards :sad1:) hold the magic they once did.

But - like everyone who cheers for a happy ending - I keep hoping we see a renaissance!

I entered getting there in the poll, because I have had five trips in the last 10 years, but I have two more scheduled THIS year and I have been going since Feb 1972, when WDW had only been open four months.

I've been almost every year since 2011 (skipped 2016) and had 3 trips before that. This upcoming visit is my 10th and I'm still so excited!

Nice poll! This is more skewed (so far) than I thought, with over 70% being veterans. I figured there were more newbies in our midst!

Our style has changed from "full on commando", to "commando within reason". Our past trip (Aug 2016) ws the first time we actually went back to the resort each afternoon for naps, and it was fantastic. Our other trips were all in Sept/Oct when parks close very early so taking an afternoon nap cut into our schedule way too much. We were park open to close people.

We don't HAVE to see and do everything anymore, but still are probably more commando than most... and we like it that way. :)

I consider myself a vet.

My first trip was when I was 7 in 1985, then when I was 11 and 12. I didn't go again until I was 21 after that though (in 2000), but did 2 trips that year (with then boyfriend, now DH). Then we had our honeymoon there in 2002. We took a break to have kids but started back up in 2009 and have gone annually (or more) since then. So that's what....15 trips? 9 of them being in the past 8 years....

Our next trip is next August! Can't wait!

I was 3 my first trip. I don't know how many trips that I went on that were family vacations when I was younger. My signature has all of my "grown up" trips listed. But the real ones started when I became the guy footing the bill for his family. Those have been the greatest.

My very first trip was 1980 and I was 7. Then, First trip as a family was Sept 2003. Been about 15-18 times in these 14 years.
