Whats the longest you've waited

Wondering, the longest you've waited from planning to actual trip at WDW?
Just started planning for Jan 2010...seems so far away 17 months!!!
The only reason I'm waiting so long is so we can save $$$$ to hopefully stay at Poly 7 nights w/ dining..my dream trip
The waiting is going to kill me.... Im already trying to plan details
Has anyone else done this?

we always have a tentative trip plan. even now with us going this month i know we will go back in nov 2010. but im not planning that trip yet. around june of that year ill plan it.
this vacation was the longest and it was too long. we booked in march so thats 6 months.
ive about gone crazy waiting

This trip. We are planning to go Nov 2009. It is sooooo far away
I usually plan around 1 year ahead. (make reservations) The actual planning around 6 months.
but, I didn't know about this site before.
obviously, I'm planning way ahead this time

We went from January 2001-November 2002. That felt like FOREVER!!! (although we did get to DL in August 2001). Now we always seem to have the next trip planned....

Planning a birthday trip for my mother (she'll be 65) and 11 family members. We'll be going in May 2010 !

I started planning around the time I bacame a member here on the DISboards. I learned how to add the ticker to me signature so I could keep track but it doesn't seem like Pooh has moved along as of yet.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by planning. Our next trip will be in 2011 or 2012. I'm already kicking around tentative dates - but things won't firm up until 2010 at the earliest, and then I'll start really planning.

In the meantime, some decisions have been made, like who is coming, generally where we'll stay (barring new options), and what besides Disney we might do. I'm also starting a list of things we'd particularly like do do for whatever reason.

oh, youre not kidding. seriously it took about 2 months to get from 40 days to 30 days. but after that i did pick up a bit, and now i feel like im running out of time to get things done, lol.

Our next trip is in November of 2010 but I haven't officially started planning yet. I'm in nursing school now and I'll graduate in May of 2010. Our last trip was in June and it was h*o*t so I want to go back when it's a little cooler and I figure November will be perfect.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but how DO you add a ticker? I followed the link, entered the info, then tried to cut and paste the information where I thought it went, and all I get is that nonsense in my signature line instead of a ticker, lol! Thanks for any help

About 2 years. Well, 2 years before returning, but I never really get into the planning until I can book. this time around we started a bit earlier than ususal since we are headed to Florida from different parts of the country - so we were 20 months out this time.

I am SOO with you there!!

I was doing fine until the 28 day mark and now I am useless!! I can't work, I can't sleep, I can't think...all for the mouse!!

I cannot imagine how children do it (I am after all, supposed to be an adult )

The last time my family went, Thanksgiving week of 2006, was when I started discussing going in 2009. We are going in May/June for 14 days. So, that would be about 18 months. I also planned it so far apart for saving the $$$ to go. Plus, I wanted to go for a longer amount of time. We can't wait!!!!

Just about as long as you!! Had one planned for Dec. 2002 that we had to cancel due to a difficult pregnancy. Once ds was born he had several medical devices that he had to be hooked up to 24hrs. a day & was in & out of the hospital. Those are the only 2 yrs. I have missed since the world opened. It was well worth it though! Finally made it back in Nov. 2004. Almost 2 yrs. later!!
