I always leave it up until after New Years...always been told its bad luck to take it down before that.
One year, my tree didn't get taken out until just before Easter. Now, it was not decorated any more, but I asked the ex to take it to the trash, and he refused. He was an idiot anyway. So I let the thing sitting in the living room until there were practically no needles left. If the dog had farted next to it, I'm sure it would have burst into flames it was so dry. When he finally decided to take it out, he was so embarrassed he drug it down the sidewalk at midnight and left it in front of someone elses house so no one would know it came from ours. It was embarrassing.

we have left ours up till jan 15th once waiting on everyone to be able to have christmas under it,, and it was a fake one that year.

You know, the REALLY important question here is, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO POST SOME NEW PICTURES OF BOOTSIE????

:earseek: And you are friends with this person??

Well, my first year out of my parents house, my roommate and I got a tree. After christmas, we didnt want to take it down because it was so pretty and we didnt really have too much else to decorate with. So we left it up, took down everything but the red glass balls and the lights, and called it a valentines tree :rotfl: I think we even put some hearts on it. We took it down at the end of February. It was an artificial tree.

Back when I was insane and put up 3 trees, I left my artificial bathroom tree up for 2 years, 'cos I liked how it turned out. :rotfl2:

It was my "girly" tree all done in pink & gold, pearls, lace & crystal. It was nice relaxing in the tub with the twinkle lights on... :teeth:

Ok, a girl I was friends with in high school was from a German family. She said it was their tradition to leave the tree up until Groundhog day - yep Feb. 2.

Ours goes down after new year's.

Ours is usually down by the first few days in January, but 12 years ago my Mom left her artificial tree up until the end of February. I was in the hospital over Christmas, so we weren't able to get together that year. DD was born in January, but was early and had to stay in the NICU for another 3 weeks after I was released. We didn't want to travel right away, so we waited another few weeks and finally went home for a late Christmas in late February. I was so surprised when we pulled up to the house and all the outside lights were on and I could see the tree through the window.

ya know of course every one now thinks i am the one that put out the tree in march..lol... i swear this was not me, some other posters could vouch for me, they saw the same thread i did.

It was not Frog, nor was it me. :teeth:

The longest we have left ours up is after new years. We have a real one. Ours right now is a fire hazard and I want it down in the next day or two.

End of APRIL!! Shame on me, and my DS Birthday is in April, so when we showed the pictures of his party, the tree was in the bakground, and people were wondering about it. :)

I'll vouch that it wasn't you. ;)

June.

I don't why we left it up until June, the year before that it was April. I guess we had to beat our previous record? :confused3

This one is going down probably the second weekend in January....maybe...I don't know! :rotfl2:

It's all artificial, so it's okay.... :teeth:

:rolleyes1

Two years ago it was my dh valentines gift from me to take the tree down. It is fake though. It's also nine feet tall, takes nine strands of lights, six storage boxes of ornaments and several days to put up and take down. No, I'm not obsessive  .

They've told that story here too. Surely I'm not the only one who remembers this story? Maybe I've been around here too long!
