Hi all,

I was just wondering what's the longest amount of time that you've stayed at DLP is? A consecutive number of days I mean.

My friend and I are planning a trip next year and were discussing how long we feel would be 'too long' for us to stay. We're both huge fans and DLP is definitely a second home for us, but I still find myself wondering if it would be foolish to book a trip longer than a week long?

I've visited many times before, both with friends and with family, my family seems to have the stance that anything over a week would be too much. My other friend who is a regular visitor of WDW seems to think no more than 4-5 days at DLP is needed as the size is so much smaller, however I think she's just biased due to her visiting such a larger scale resort ;)

So how long have you/do you think you could stay at DLP consecutively?
I know I've said many times before that I could happily stay there endlessly (if money wasn't an option of course) but I'm sure in reality that would ruin the magic a little bit, and it would eventually grow tiring (dare I even say boring :confused3 ?)

Just curious of other people's views :goodvibes

Before we had kids, we stayed for 6 nights/7 days in early July. It was fairly busy so queues were long; this can affect things as you might get ore done in 3 days when it's quiet. We didn't find it too long, although we did go to Paris for one day.

A week and we are staying for a week again this summer. Although we do go into Paris for a few days, but even then usually go back into the park at night.

I've done short trips (3-4 days) and a week on more than one occasion. I definitely prefer a week, because it takes away any feeling of having to rush to get everything done.
A week feels more like a holiday to me, in which we can take our time, head back to the hotel when we need a rest. We usually do only 2 or 3 early magic hour mornings when we stay longer, whereas we do em all when we go for a short stay.

I agree, a week is lovely and relaxed and we have stayed 7 nights but more usually do 5 nights to give 4 full days. We have found this the optimum hotel versus travel expense option for us as a family. More recently DS and I have been able to travel by train within France on our own so we have been doing shorter, 3 night trips as the travel is shorter and costs less. Three night trips are long enough for me on my own with DS! :)

We done 7 nights in the hotel New York before.
We never stay less than 6 nights now as I love my longer stays.
Our next trip off site and we are having 8 days.

3 nights/4 days is usually enough for us but we usually have no children with us so can spend as long as we want in the parks

6 nights is our regular stay for one visit each year.

:thumbsup2

I have gone twice when I was a teenager and only visited for a day each time. In September we are going for 7 nights. We decided on 7 nights because we have a 4 year old who will want to see and do everything but also a 1 year old who will want to take things slowly with lot of brakes.

Six nights is our current longest but we do a day in Paris within that and don't do full days on the rest. My preference is four nights and that's in the school holidays (apart from August). We feel in that time we can do everything leisurely as mostly when we go the park is open 8am-11pm so plenty of time. Enjoy your planning.

Our longest trip so far has been six nights / seven days, arriving on a Thursday afternoon and departing on the Wednesday evening. But we normally do four nights / five days which we find is long enough to fit everything in.

Our six night trip was great and very relaxing, but I think we were too relaxed and laid back as we kept saying - oh we can do that tomorrow, and we can d that tomorrow too... and then found ourselves running around on the last day to squeeze in the things we missed.

Our longest trip was 9 nights/10 days - we did venture into Paris and Provins so did have a couple of days break from the parks although we did go back in at night to see the Enchanted fireworks ..... that's how long ago it was! :goodvibes

That's a very interesting point actually, I can definitely seeing myself doing that if I felt too relaxed. I guess the longer time is nice though, even if you do put off a few things because it gives you time to really soak in the littler details of the parks :goodvibes

Anyway thank you to all for the interesting insights, will definitely help with our planning :yay: :grouphug:

we stayed 8 nights before, it was good, we didn't have to rush or nothing, we slept in each morning, and spent the afternoons and evenings in the park

We did 7 nights last summer, stayed at the cheyenne, but did a few daytrips away from the park, because of the later summer opening times we could do a couple of park hours each evening. Our usual is 5 nights 5 days :)

Our longest was 8 nights/9days (complete full days as we arrive at park opdning and leave at closing). These were solid days at DLP and no trips into Paris. I cried when I left. This past trip we did 5 full days in the park and got back yesterday - so much going on we missed out some studio rides and again, I cried when we left as I wanted 2 more days (but had to drive our friends back) so we're going again in a few weeks to compensate ;)

Our longest trip has been 5 nights, 5 days. We had done pretty much everything we wanted to do in that time and were glad to come home for the rest! :rotfl:

We have always done 3 nights/4 days to date. The early starts and late nights start to catch up with the little ones by the last day.
