I was just wondering what the latest rules are for fast pass now? We were at the world last summer and you could get a fast pass (I think) every two hours. I do remember reading that it had changed again and I was hoping you all could help me out. I tried a search, but that function has been disabled.

We are going to Key West this summer and will stop in Orlando on the way back and spend a few days at Disney and Universal. I want to be sure to make the most of our time while at Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for your help!

They have altered the rules, and now you get a new fastpass every 45 minutes, or 5 minutes after your previos one starts, whichever comes first. We sure got alot more done that way!

We just got back from Disney World. The way the rules are on fast pass are as follows:
You must use your current FastPass ticket, or wait 2 hours before getting another FastPass ticket for a different location.

In actual use (while we were there) we noticed that sometimes the time they put on the tickets (the time at the bottom where it says you can get your next fastpass after such and such time) was 2hrs even if the fastpass would be used by then, sometimes it was the time the fastpass we'd just gotten STARTED, and sometimes it was the time the fastpass we'd just gotten had for it's ending time. (example- if time was 1-2pm... sometimes it would say at 1pm we could get another one, sometimes it would say 2pm- regardless of how long in the future the time for that fastpass was).

It was all very confusing. So we just decided to think in our minds that we couldn't get another one for 2hrs when getting the fastpass and then waiting for the ticket to come out and tell us what time we actually could get another one.

I think they should change it to like how Universal Studios does their universal express tickets actually. There you can choose your time. You put the card in and you are given 2 rides to choose from and once you choose which one- then you get to choose between TWO time frames for your fast pass. Sometimes that can come in very handy. Because you can choose the time that flows better with your plans (ie: lunch soon, enough time to ride another ride or something, etc). The only thing I didn't like about Universal Express tickets though- is that they didn't put the time on the tickets letting you know when you could get your next express ticket! LOL

Does anyone know if they accept "late" FPs? I know at Disneyland, you can use a FP anytime after the ride window has begun, even if you show up several hours late. Does the same policy apply at WDW?

We were at WDW from 12/19-1/01 and the fast pass tickets were stamped with a 1 hour wait before you could get another ticket. I'm not sure why there seems to be such varying times being reported, but we were always able to get another fast pass either after we used the current one or 1 hour after it was issued.
As for using late fast passes.....A cm told us that it is "technically" against the rules but she had never seen a cm refuse to allow a late fast pass into line.

Thanks for all your answers! I'm hoping we will be able to get one every 45 minutes, but I guess we'll have to see what the time says on the bottom. Maybe they will have all the kinks worked out of the system.

Sybah Shelstah.....when we go to Universal, we just stay on-site. Then we can use our room key and go to the express line on every ride!!! It works great. Last summer, we finished the rides in both parks in one day. Then we went back and did all our favorites over and over again. In fact, this trip we will stay on-site again, even while visiting Disney. We just love the Hard Rock Hotel and were able to get an entertainment rate for our dates!!!! I REALLY wish Disney would offer something like that!!

It may have something to do with the time of year you are there, the attendance at that particular park, etc. In October, it wasn't particularly crowded, and we were definitely able to get FP's every 45 minutes, but usually our FP times started before we got to that, so we were getting FP's about every 30 minutes!

This has nothing to do with the fastpasses..........SORRY!

Just wanted to say hello to a person with fabulous taste...the DIS and the Crimson Tide!!!!!!!
