What's the last medical test you had done?

For me, bloodwork to see if I was menopausal even though I'm sure if they had just simply asked my family the Dr would have gotten the answer!!! :lmao:

Hubby will be having a colonoscopy this week. Important test but he's dreading it all the same.

I have bloodwork done every 6 months because I have rheumatoid arthritis. It's mostly to make sure that because of my age, all the medicines aren't messing with anything they shouldn't be.

I had both a heart scan and lung scan today, get results in a few days. I have a colonoscopy lined up for about 2 weeks from now, a folow up to past ones I had done several years back, first one found a pre-cancerous polyp.

I had an MRI today. I knew it would happen eventually. I had silicone implants added for reconstruction following my mastectomy 22 years ago. It looks like at least one is leaking. Over for a do-over. Foreign objects really don't belong in a person's body. I'm not looking forward to the call from the doctor with the results.

I just had my annual Pap done last week. Also, had my blood drawn for glucose, anemia and cholesterol check.

Head, neck and chest CAT scan to see if there was any type of tumor or growth, as I have a paralyzed vocal cord, and have been "hoarse" for over a year now. Nothing showed, so they expect it was due to nerve damage that worsened over time from being intibated (sp?) during surgery.

So if you ever meet me out and about at Disney... no I'm not sick, and I didn't lose my voice from having such a great time! That's just howI sound!

I will have blood work done to check for diabetes & to check my cholesterol tomorrow. I started seeing a new doctor & he wanted a full health screen on me.

I had a colonoscopy & an endoscopy 2 weeks ago.
My reflux is confirmed.
I also had a very bad sessile polyp removed and it was non-cancerous.
So glad I had that colonoscopy done.....Well worth it, imho. I am only 41.

I had to wear a holter monitor a few weeks ago due to an irregular heart rhthym, but I haven't gotten the results yet. I have a mammogram this week.

I had a mammo on the good side last week, after a bought with breast cancer this past year. The lumpectomy side is still too swollen after radiation to do the mammo. Something to look forward to in June! :rotfl:

Test? Well I had an EKG and bloodwork done before gall blader removal surgery a few days before Christmas. And Wednesday I'll have more blood taken prior to my prostate exam.

Do they put you completely out for a colonoscopy?

Not usually. They give something they refer to as "twilight". You won't be out, but you won't be in our functioning reality either. In other words, it won't bother you!

I had a colonoscopy done today. It was fine and don't have to have another one for 7 years.

Kitty tell your husband that the test wasn't bad at all. I didn't even mind the liquid diet that much. I was able to eat hard candy so I got some butterscotch candies and they really helped.

Did they have you drink the stuff or did you do what I had....I took 2 Dulcolax 2 days before, then drank the Fleet Phospho-Soda at timed intervals & had a clear liquid diet.
That wasn't bad at all.

They put me out, I could feel them start the procedure and the next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. I guess there are a lot of different ways to do it. Have your husband call the Dr. and ask.

I had to be on a liquid diet all day, and then at 6 pm I started to take 20 pills, 4 at a time every 15 minutes, with 8 oz. of water. The last 4 I had to take with 12 oz of ginger ale. This morning I had to take 4 more at 6am and the last 4 at 6:15 with another 12 oz of ginger ale. It wasn't bad, I just wished I could have taken the pills sooner, as I didn't get to sleep until after midnight because I was still going (if you know what I mean ;) ).

That is different marybet, I hadn't heard of that. Thanks...

Anyone else have different "prep"? Interesting.

Thanks for the info guys. :) I will share it with DH. They're putting him completely out, he told me when he called from work tonight. Not sure what his "prep" will be the day before, tho.
