MY ART FAIR!!! I have been an organizer of this fair for, gosh, decades. I thought some of you might enjoy some photos.

630am saturday morning....

Here is the same area at 7 am on Sunday...

This is McCue... one of my favorite artists. He does 'industral art, taking scrap metal and turning it into art... Those are some of this candle sticks..

This lady's art POPS...

All types of art.. we have such a diverse group, I love it.

There is another art fair that runs along side of ours... these next two photos are a shout out to how great my team is... The first is the other fair's garbage cans...

And my rockin crew would never allow that...

And here is my team! I love love love these guys! They worked their butts off!!

I hire inner city kids to come in a work. They really step up and I am so proud of each and everyone one of them. YAY TEAM!!!

Photo's dont do any of this justice. And I noticed most of the pics I posted are of wall art... but we have pottery, stained/fused glass, Fabic artists (in fact I bought an outfit I will be wearing on my Cruise in Oct for semi formal night there) Jewelry, Wood workers... and much much more.

Gosh I love my fair. I grew up doing it. My mother was an artist and was one of the founding members of my fair. And now here I am in charge of it. Gosh I love my life!

Trying to show you all the depth in the painting... it's amazing!

The center of the flower is actually stones.. not sure you can see the 3Dness of it....

The artist is this super cool Lady named Tang. A lot of her things are painted on old wood that she finds... her stained glass pieces have not only glass but metals, wood, and other recyclables worked into them. Her art is only half as amazing as she is.

yep, I can see that hanging over Pink's bed now. Very cool indeed. And so cool to have something you're involved in that makes not only your life fulfilling, but the lives of all the artists you support and those kids as well. I'm sure they get a great boost of self esteem working for you if only for one weekend.

These kids work several years in a row for me... The tall boys in the back, they now are in college in Memphis but drive back to the city to work the fair. One of the girls has worked 7 years now and I am training her to take over some of my duties as I take over more the the pre planning (permits, jurying, recruting, etc)

It may only be the first weekend in June, but it is so much more than that to these kids. It opens new world's for them. I can't explain it. The fair has a life of it's own. It's unlike any of the other fairs any of my artists go to. SOme of the artists do fairs 40 weekends a year, and it's my fair they look forward to most. We are all a family. One weekend a year. It's amazing and I am thankful every year for the sore feet.

I googled New Jersey art festivals and found this link... lists all the fairs in your state Stop by one of them and get hooked for life!

edited to add... I looked closer at the list and I would try and avoid the crafty types ones, unless of course your into that kind of thing... but they all have something to offer... some just more than others.

Looks like a great festival! I was at an art festival this weekend too. Not as organizer but as a vendor (I do gourd art). So I know how tired you are today! Glad it went well.

Bears you deserve a great big hugarooni for taking your time for kids and for running these art fairs. The artists' art looked awesome I would buy one of those it would have to be in the 4th Picture and the painting to bottom right.
It looks sooo fun it is times like this I wish I lived in America!

I love to go to art fairs, we go to all the ones around here.
I actually do some art of my own and have been in local art fairs and convention art shows, and won a prize last time I entered.

Here another of the items I purchased last weekend... It's a one of a kind, hand dyed, hand sewn outfit. I plan on wearing it for Semi Formal night on my cruise in October..

It feels so good on too! Light enough for the tropics, yet the shawl will keep me warm enough in the dinning rooms.


Here is the hand blown glass necklace I bought also.... I put the pop top tab next to it so you could see the size of it.. They take clear molten glass and add colored molten glass in back and swrill it around

The wall art I bought was pricey, but the outfit was only $120 and the necklace was $30. Art fairs have something for everyone's budget! I LOVE ART FAIRS!!!
