a one bedroom villa with a studio vs a dedicated two bedroom villa at okw?

#2? How nice is it for two families to split a gv? Is it noisey from the open living room design? Is there enough room to escape to your bedrooms for some private/quite time?

thanks

The dedicated 2 bedroom has one entrance where the lock off has two. The 2nd bedroom in a dedicated does not have the additional microwave and mini fridge which you would have in a studio.

Never been fortunate enough to stay in a GV, so I can't help you there.

The dedicated second bedroom also has a large extra closet. And another sink where the microwave and kitchen sink would be in the studio. The dedicated second bedroom will have the same telephone number as the rest of the villa. In a lockoff, it may be different since it can be rented separately.

I have never stayed in a GV, so I can't answer that question.

We have stayed with 12 people in a GV, and didn't think it was noisy at all. I know it is for the folks below though! Those hardwood floors echo in the units below. The bedrooms in the GV are very spacious, so each offers at least as much as a studio would. The extra bathroom on the lower floor helps a lot too. Even if no one is staying on the sleep sofa, that extra shower can come in handy for getting ready in the mornings. Having 4 showers that can be running at the same time is a big plus!

a studio has a balcony.

the 2nd bedroom does NOT.

that is what I didn't like about the dedicated vs lock off - (okw has a 1-bedroom and studio together - they call it a lock off)

I also missed not having a door to the outside.

GV are big and yes there is enough room to escape.... but since you are expecting trouble why bother.

get just your family a 1-bedroom and the other family a studio - make sure they aren't in the same building....

that by itself should cut down on the arguments.

thanks everyone for all you knowledge :)

Im a little bit claustrophobic so that is where the needing my space sort of thing comes into play, not that im worried about having arguments with family, we are going with my cousin and we get along great. I also like it quiet to go to sleep but if there were other people that wanted to stay up then they will have a place to do their thing while the rest of us sleep.
