Hi all,
i have been reading around and it seems people who have been on Space Mountain mission 2 describe it as pretty different from the original one.
But have not been able to make up my mind if SM2 is more or less scary than the old one.
I went on SM in 1999 and even if i was pretty scared BEFORE the gun exploded :scared1: then i enjoyed it and went again :cool1: .
But am always worried about new things and i wonder and wonder lol:idea:

Looks like everyone is holding back in case I post up some things about Space Mountain in the trivia quiz :goodvibes

I'm sure someone will answer at some time :)

sorry I just asked the same question on the RnR thread.

anyone going to fill us in :confused3

I think that the ride layout is more or less the same, but the soundtrack is different and the visual effects are different during the ride. So it isn't any more scary than it used to be really.

I've just had a look on the Rollercoaster Database and they had this to say about it:

'For the Space Mountain's 10th anniversary, it was renovated featuring a new story, new effects and a new soundtrack. The trains were redone in metallic silver'.

Having seen the beast with the lights on I would opin that it would be too complex to tweek the track - it looks more like Space Spaghetti Junction

I have jsut found this.

"Space Mountain: Mission 2 is a conversion of a ride of nearly the same name (Space Mountain) in Disneyland Paris and can be considered as a small upgrade to Space Mountain. Some aspects of the ride have changed, such as the video shown in the second "climb" of the ride (The smiling moon seen in the original has been replaced with a planet and two asteroids exploding) and the introduction of a very well simulated Vortex, using bent neon lights. A welcome addition to this conversion is audible countdown (French only) when loaded into the "Cannon", whereas before riders were held in suspense over when the "Cannon" would fire. The physical coaster track has not changed."

I have not had a go on M2 but I will very soon.

The DLP Space Mountain is the only SM that has an inversion! Not Anaheim, not Orlando, not Tokyo, not Hong Kong--only Paris takes you for a loop.

Enjoy!!!
