What's the deal with point disparity between sizes/seasons?

How does Disney figure point allocations for room size/view/seasons? You'd think there would be a consistent difference, such as 10% more points between adventure and choice seasons across all room views/sizes. We were originally planning to go to Aulani during adventure season in a 1 bedroom island view which is 36/night. But we might need to switch to choice season which jumps up to 44/night in the same view/room. But all the other 1 bedroom views during adventure only increase 2-4 points.

I've noticed this for other resorts. It's so weird. What's the rhyme or reason?

For that I think it's based on a lot of tracking. Aulani did get a point reallocation since it opened. I don't know for certain about that particular room type but my guess would be there was a trend of that view booking faster than other views.

You'd think the trend would continue between Choice and Magic seasons, or Magic and Premier. But it's not, it only goes up 2 & 4 points. But there are other random views/sizes that have an unnaturally high jump in points. It seems completely random.

I don't have a crystal ball but there is likely some "hidden" demand affecting such a large swing in points. For example, maybe there is a school holiday in Japan, on the U.S. west coast, or some other attendance driver at work.
