What's the Deal with HoJo??

I like it because the price is great, and it's clean.

Oh and I forgot to mention the staff.. The staff is so nice and helpful. I love HoJo staff. I have never ever spoken to anyone there who was not kind and helpful....

do you guys think it would be best for me to call HoJo directly to find out pricing for next April or wait.

Definitely give us a call! We love to help plan vacations, and the earlier that we can help get you started- the better! :thumbsup2

If you prefer to communicate online rather than by telephone, you can also email our In-House Reservations Team at stay@hojoanaheim.com

I hope we hear from you soon!

OK--Here are a few more questions for the HoJo experts ;)

1. What building(s) house the guest laundry(ies)? How much per load for washer/dryer? (Not that I plan on doing laundry during my vacation, but DS5 always manages to get a massive stain on something LOL)

2. Is building 1 the 'high rise' building with the elevator, or is it a 2 story walk-up?

3. What buildings are closest to the Pirate themed water play area?

Thanks in advance :worship:

I've never done laundry so I can't answer those for you, sorry. :)
Bldg 1 is the "high rise" with the elevator, bldg 2 is the one at the back next to the pool, bldgs 3, 4, 5, & 6 are the 2 story pavilion bldgs.
Closest to the pirate themed area are bldgs 4 & 6 (bldg 4 is our favorite, we prefer the second floor but we travel lightly) and then bldg 1. bldgs 4 & 6 are right next to the play area, bldg 1 you have to exit and walk a little ways. Closest to the pool area are bldgs 2, 3 & 5.

We are arriving at Ho Jo on 11/13. We got the ent rates for the nights it was available that following week - we just went for the most inexpensive room - its just DH And I.

Thinking of the cheapest room, is there anything special that I should request as far as room or building? Are all rooms non smoking??? I have bad asthma.

THanks!!!

Did you get a king room? If so, that is the NK1 which is in buildings 1 and 2. If it were me, I would request building 2 which overlooks the pool. We always ask for a quiet room in that building. (Some people have said that if you are in a certain area of that building you can hear freeway noise, we have never had a problem).

We were in a double queen room (2209) in building 2 and it was very quiet. Early in the morning if I was awake before everyone else I could hear a very low rumbling occasionally that I assume was freeway noise, but it wasn't bothersome and I wouldn't have noticed it at all if it hadn't been totally silent in the room at the time. We very rarely heard other guests in the halls.

Hiya!

1. There is Laundry in the basement of Building 1 [closest to the Lobby] and on the first floor of Building 2 [the 4-story building at the back of our property].

2. Building 1 is the Tower Building, that 7-story building right next to the Lobby and it does have elevators. Our Pavillion Buildings are the four, 2-story buildings in the center of our property, and they do not have elevators.

3. Our four Pavillion Buildings [the 2-story buildings] in the center of the property are going to tbe the closest to Castaway Cove. Building 1 is pretty close, too. Building 2 [the four-story] is closest to the Garden Pool.

I hope this helps! :goodvibes

HoJos has a huge following here and if you can get the Entertainment rate it is certainly very good value... It wasn't available for our trip in August and so we shopping around we were able to get a one bedroom suite with free wifi, parking and breakfast for a lot less than a twin double at Hojos. It was The Best Value Inn on Katella and about a 2 minute walk further than Hojo and we had a great stay. It was exceptionally quiet and being a small property it was very relaxing with a great pool and jacuzzi.

Anyone know if I can purchase the Kids suite but instead of the bunkbed in it a baby crib???? I have a 10month old who does NOT sleep AT ALL if she sees anyone around her during bedtime. This would be really I mean reallly wonderful.

Anyone???

These are full length big sturdy bunk beds. They aren't going to move them out of the room for you. However.....Hojo does have baby cribs that you can request, I believe free of charge. Or if you have your own Pack'n'Play and can bring it, I would do that, just in case the hotel should happen to run out of cribs. You can put the request on your reservation, but I don't think it's guaranteed that you will get one. You will want to email or call the hotel directly for the policy.

The kids' room will have more than enough space for the crib, with the bunks remaining in place. When we stayed last year, we had a queen size Aerobed on the floor and still had some room to maneuver around. There is seriously a ton of floor space.

One more consideration.....the kids' suites are on the freeway side of building 1. There is freeway noise. Not horns blaring kind of freeway noise...more like constant zooming car white noise, if that makes sense. Is your child a light sleeper, or is it just seeing someone else in the room that's the problem? If she's a light sleeper, you'll need to decide if the traffic noise is going to be a problem.

The king size bed in the parents' room is quite heavenly BTW. :cloud9:

Hope this helps.

YES, very very heavenly, and yes, tons of space for a crib, if you can get one. The freeway noise is more like white noise, I doubt it would bother an infant, and it didn't bother us at all. It's interesting to listen to, and soothing at times. I think there is 538 square feet of room in both rooms (total) for the kids suite, but not sure... (?) Perhaps if you need little one to sleep in, don't request top floor if she wakes early from light -we LOVE the 7th floor, and the great skylights, makes it seem more roomy even yet. But for someone who might be used to sleeping in a darkened room she may want to be in a room with a ceiling that doesn't allow extra light in.

I can concur with all the wonderful things that have been said already about Hojo's! We have stayed other places just for a change, and the only place we would stay other than with them is at one of the on site hotels, but we can only afford that if they have extremely good annual passholder rates, so we have stayed at Hojo's many times over the past 20 years.
One thing no one has mentioned is that you can sign up for Whyndham rewards, basically it's points you earn on qualifying stays which you can then cash in for free nights at their hotels or other things. You can't get these points for rooms at the entertainment/annual passholder rate, those are too good of a deal! But as someone else mentioned, we usually end up staying there anyway, special rates or not, and on the stays we don't get the deep discount (the 20% discount still counts!) you can get your points. We found out after enough trips to make it hurt....that there are several other hotels in the chain that we often stay at when we are travelling back and forth, and we lost out on those points, but not anymore! We got a special card in the mail to register before Oct.31 and if we complete 2 stays by the end of the year, we will have enough points for a free night! One of the nights we are staying does not have the ent/ap rate available so we will get points for it, and we are choosing a whyndham resort for the trip there, and back, so together with the points we already have will have at least 3 free nights somewhere! You can sign up online ahead of time, or they can do it for you when you arrive! The other hotels in the chain you can earn points at are: Travelodge (US only) Knights Inn, Microtel Inns & Suites, Super 8, Ramada, Days Inn, Hawthorn Suites, Baymont Inn & Suites, Wingate by Whyndham, Whyndham Garden, Whyndham Grand Collection.

I have noticed that there are a BUNCH of people here who love HoJo. Can a HoJo lover tell me why? Is it simply the great deals I've heard about? I thought I had the right hotel booked (DI&S, due to location and 2 children under 5) but perhaps I should re-think it?

The hojo I awesome. I give it 9 thumbs up!

Its in walking distance, so very close to the park!

The rooms are nice and clean, great rates and an AP rate is really good too.

Nice kids play pool area…

For us...after about 8 years of staying here...

the physical things - the incredible grounds (beautiful), the spacious rooms with the great beds, the gift/sundry shop, the proximity to D, Mimi's and close-by Millie's, and the staff. They truly go beyond the norm to make your stay what it should be.

the traditional/emotional things - after so many visits, my son refuses to stay elsewhere and I agree. We have built up so many memories from our stays here...watching the fireworks from the balcony or on the grounds, getting very vocal during games of Air Hockey at the arcade, checking out the holiday items in the gift shop, and just the little things that happen that make a difference. It just feels good - really good.

I realize that memories are, and can be, made anywhere. For us, though, a stay at HoJo's is a part of our trip to Disneyland.

Hi Everyone!!

Question - we have an entertainment room reserved that has 2 queen beds. Do you know if there are any king beds at that cheap price?

Also, we are thinking of upgrading to a park view - they said we could do it for $15 plus tax - this was for a 2 queen bed room....do they have them with a king bed???

Just wonderin!! What do you think my chances are of upgrading on a parkvie the week of 11/13=11/20?

Thanks!! Wendy

I am planning on booking this hotel for my next Disneyland vacation. My main dilemna, is wondering how to go about booking, and what rate I shuld ask for. I normally call for hotel reservations. I just feel better when I talk to a person. Doing it online, just isn't my way of doing things.

Now I have a AAA card, and AARP card, then there's the Disboards 15% that somebody mentioned. I also believe that another website that I frequently post on has a preferred rate as well.

Is there someone that I should particularly ask for when booking, or will anybody be able to sort out all these rates for me? Sometimes, I do a little online checking before, and mention those quoted rates when I call.

Does anyone have any additional ideas. The lowest rate, in my case, might mean that I can go to Disneyland for an additional day.

Thanks in advance.
