What's the biggest TV you've seen in a home?

I visited my SIL this past weekend. She has this room that is almost like a small theater with surround sound. I think the screen was about 10x5. It was HUGE and the picture was very sharp and clear. I have no idea what it was but we watched several movies, and it was great.

Until just a few years ago I had never had a TV bigger than 13 inches (I'm up to 19 now).

I just wondered if anyone else has seen anything like this or if you have one. Her son was into film editing, and she is optioning a play for a screen play (I'm not even sure if I know what that means) so film is something real important to them.

I've known a couple of people who had big screen tvs but they were nothing compared to this.

It was 'probably' a DLP projector. Basically, the TV signal is projected on to a separate screen. I work in the AV industry, and some of what we sell and can get is INSANE. Of course, we have only ONE TV in the house, it's 10+ years old, and 27" :rotfl:

We knew someone who had a huge one like the one arminnie mentioned. But someone in the household used to vote on cinematography for the Academy Awards, so it was really just used for that.

One of my nephews has a media room, one wall is the screen. No idea how big it is, don't know if you'd count it as a TV. They just like big TV's. My girls say it's great to play video games on.

They also have a big screen downstairs.

72" here. My DH bought it for me when I gave birth to my second. I LOVE it and can see it while I'm cutting veges in the kitchen for dinner. Much better than a diamond!

BF has a 65" HDTV in the living room...that's big enough for me (for now!)

32 inches. I have a 13 inch in the kitchen.

I worked on a house that was owned by a NYC media exec. He had his media room done up really nicely. The screen had to be 10 feet wide. This was before the wide screen aspect ratio was popular so it was probably 10x8 or so. It had a projector that dropped down from the ceiling. When you hit the power button on the remote, the screen dropped, the projector dropped and the front and back heavy room darkening drapes closed automatically. I was there when they were testing it. It was amazing to see the Road Runner and Coyote larger than life in this relatively small (15 x 25) room.

I know a 15 foot by 25 foot room in now small, but when the living room was easily twice that size, you get the idea. :)

We have a nice 55" HD projection TV. It is plenty big enough for us.

Well, maybe a bit too big.

A friend of mine in High school had this set up. Very cool.

We have a 42" Plasma which is the perfect size for our family room and I love how it hangs on the wall and doesn't take up a lot of space.

My FIL has a 50" rear projection. I think that's about the biggest I have seen in a real person's home.

Same here, but my DH knows about it. LOL!! He picked it out. I was fine with the 60 inch, but he said it was getting to be to old. AAAHHH!!! I can tell you one thing there isn't much you can do with an old big screen. No one wants to buy a older one cause of the new ones coming out. So right now the kids are watching it until it goes out for good. DH's cousin was looking into buying it, but if something happened to it and he went to have it fixed, I guess it would cost more then what it's worth. Oh well!!! :(

We have friends with a media room and I think it is over 15 ft....probably closer to 18ft

Super Bowls are awesome to watch in the media room....

We have a 62 inch big screen I thought that was big enough. Then we went looking at new houses and my Dh saw the media rooms they are putting in the newer houses now he wants a bigger one
